The MVC Softball tournament is being played in Peoria this week. Bradley won their opening tournament game Thursday 4-0 over Indiana State to advance to the semifinal round Friday. #4 seed Bradley will play #1 seed Drake at 11 AM Friday.

Meanwhile Bradley baseball (29-14, 9-6, tied for 3rd place) has an important 3-game series Fri, (6PM) Sat (6PM). and Sun (1PM). at Dozer Park in Peoria against Illinois State. ISU is 10-5 and 1 game ahead of the Braves in 2nd place.-

The #1 & #2 seeds (Drake, SIU) only need to win ONE game to reach the Championship game.
The #5 & #6 teams would have to win 3 games to reach the Championship game- while Evansville, Loyola, Indiana State & Valpo
all would have to win FOUR games just to reach the finale

Pretty incredible advantage for Drake & SIU to be rested and ready on Friday - each needing to win only one game
to reach the Title Game and potentially playing an opponent that has to win FOUR games in just a little over two days
to reach that same Title Game.

You really don't want to finish in the bottom 4 because you have a single elimination opening round. Braves control their own destiny 1 game back of the Redturds and 2 back of the Sycs with 3 games left vs each.

BU softball lost today in the semifinals to #1 seeded Drake, ranked #25 nationally in this week's poll. Bradley lost 7-0 and were eliminated. Drake will play the winner of the other semifinal game between #2 seed SIU and #3 seed UNI. UNI currently leads 2-0 in the 6th inning.
