Official BU 'poaching' thread?

Hey, we went to the Sweet 16 with a team of JUCO's (Bennett, Wright, Franklin, Andrews) and transfers (Sommerville), so it's not like it hasn't been done here with success. Technically Sommerville is a JUCO too I suppose, but the point remains - it has been done before going the JUCO/transfer route. And I am not advocating a roster full of transfers, rather perhaps having the opportunity to address a need or two via this route. It is one I am sure is explored annually by most teams.

Dick V did a good job rebuilding the program via the JUCO route.
 
BU should have a new HC in place by Apr. 1 (...fewer than 20 days) and if we keep the core of WE, TB, DSE, and land DS, Remy, and NW we can still compete next year-- anything less and we will struggle

What about JP?? I would think he is just as if not more important than WE. Is there a reason he is not in that group? Is it pretty much assumed SH will not come now as well? If you are putting Remy in the group we still have a shot at and not SH, it must be a pretty poor chance SH is coming. I would assume JE, Sticks, and MK might come back, and who knows about WL. AD was linked with Platt so who knows there. If spots open up I say we offer Jordan Nelson.

JP, DSE, WL, DS, and Remy are vital to this program's future, and TB if he still has two years left (not sure how that situation plays out). Also, I find it difficult to believe that SH would recieve any legitimate offers for next year having not played for 2 seasons, and I would assume even schools who previously offered have already filled that scholly, but who knows.

I'd guess the thing with SH is that he could go back to Yuba and play another year and see what he gets from it.

THe worst scenario I'm willing to contemplate still has a core of DSE, JP, and D-World in it. I think any reasonable hire may be able to get this for you.
 
I think with DS, DSE, and JP they all also have the Local aspect of BU. They are from the area and i have heard it mentioned with each of them that they are playing for their "Home Team". I think that gives us a much better chance of keeping them on the floor for us next year.

No reason why we cannot keep the core of this group together, we land the right coach and he can look to fill in any gaps with Jr College players or maybe a high school sr. or prep school player that is still available , Max would be a good start for our inside game, I do not expect S.Harris to come but wish he would at least meet with the new coach as he seems to be a good fit with this team.
