No PG + No Inside Game + Poor Coaching = Bad Results

Enough said really....

I just hope the new AD notices and we don't have to go through another 3 years of this garbage!

Has anyone noticed that we've had double digit leads in EVERY home game, yet have blown every single one of them based on poor coaching and substitution patterns...

And now that we don't have any semblance of a PG and really no inside game whatsoever because of lack of touches, toughness, and the fact that we play small every chance we can get...

This team has ZERO chance to do anything this year unless wholesale changes are made...

Unfortunately, I don't see a way to fix the PG situation...

BUT we could fix many things by not continuing this ridiculous notion of playing so many guards at once...

Heck, I'd almost be willing to have Chris Roberts bring the ball up simply to show the other two players that if they want to play, then they better get it together.

My lineup for Sunday and this by lack of players and default really:

-Singh
-Brown
-Knezevic
-Warren
-Roberts

Oh, and can I ask what the purpose of removing a redshirt from a player is if you don't plan on playing him?

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think Jake comes in and kicks the ball around like our two supposed leaders.

The real problem lies at the top though as he has guaranteed spots in the starting lineup (we know who they are) and has favorites, and more importantly, is way too stubborn to change his extremely flawed and failed system.

Western Carolina was just the beginning and losing to Loyola should never happen, let alone on your home floor after being up 12.

Its going to be a long season and a very long next 3 years if he doesn't look in the mirror and realize that the changes begin and end with him.

You make a few good points, but lose some credibility with your suggestion we start a lineup of Singh, Brown, Knezevic, Warren, and Roberts.
That would never happen, and would be a disaster. Your headline complaint is point guard play, yet your lineup does not include anyone who can even play the point guard position.
The others guys in your lineup are not proficient at creating shots, so with no PG, they would struggle mightily to score.
SS's average points per 40 minutes (thanks to shaunguth) is, by far, the worst on the team- 3.7 pp40 , and Milos has had 2 nice games off the bench, but don't be fooled thinking he is ready to start and play more minutes. He will eventually be a very good player, but now he is a defensive liability, and he has, by far, the worst number of turnovers per 40 minutes on the team.

I agree with you Da Coach last nite when Milos was shooting good and kept telling the guy next to me to take him out because he did not defend anyone and did not rebound at all. But I guess not many people watch both ends of the floor.

Milos had a couple boards in that sequence as well...and I would sacrifice a little "D" to score some points....that is what role players do....

I am playing the hot hand till he either cools off or needs a rest....neither happened...if you need Brown in....

SM
AW or CR
TB
MK
WE

would have been fine at the time

The kid was hot! let him play...

My sentiments exactly. Move MK over to the 3 spot on defensive assignment or play a zone. When a guy is killing it and is in a zone ride that wave for as long as it lasts.

The use of MK last night was the WORST use of players I might have ever seen and I've seen many games in my old age.

Sure....take one of our FEW offensive weapons out of the game after he's made 3-4 shots in a row. MK must have been guarding Hill all night from the bench as well since it didn't seem like ANYONE could stop him!

Ok, obviously you didn't get my point based on the title of the thread...

I put Chris at the point because he's our best ball handler AND neither of the two PG's we have that can currently play deserve the minutes they are getting or the start the one is getting...thats what I am saying.

Also, you're dead wrong on Milos and defense as he had to help on Maniscalco's man when he was given blow by after blow by while he was in...

The first rule of good coaching is NEVER take out the hot shooter...

Second rule is that you can't blame a guy's help defense on him when he is doing just that, helping...

I haven't yet heard anyone state just how awful Sam Maniscalco has been on both ends of the floor pretty well all year....

Does he just get a free pass here? Or is everyone just going to blame it again on his "various" injuries?

The title of the thread is all that needs to be said. This group is talented enough to finish top 3 in this league this year and the next few years. However, because of the title of the thread, this group will be struggling to stay out of the play-in games this year and the next few years.

Solid point. Did I read on here that Ruffin's got a little brother or cousin or something like that?

The question is where is the real problem?

I listened to post game last night and it seemed as though blame was being pushed off on the players...

The major problem I see with some of what was said though is that apparently our players lack intensity, motivation, and are just plain lazy...

My concern here is that most weren't like this until they started playing here and the fact that he can not get players motivated to play 40 minutes makes me believe that he just can not and will not get these guys up for anything other than the big Illinois type games.

Let down after let down, blown lead after blown lead, and sadly, I still haven't heard what needs to be said...

And that is we can expect some changes from the top down and that they'll start with him and his staff...

I just hate to harp on this, but the playing rotations are absolutely horrible, and I just will never understand why Taylor and Milos can not play together, yet we continue to play two PG's together that should be lucky at this point to get time on the floor alone.

If it were up to him, we'd have 5 guards on the floor at the same time...

Until he realizes that this game doesn't begin and end with only guards, I expect similiar results.

We should never lose to Loyola...that is an embarrassment to Bradley University and our fan base.

.500 overall and .500 in the conference just doesn't cut it anymore!

Does this forum have a way to ignore posts from certain posters?

These fantasies of "going big" have got to end.

Who said anything about going big?

Its called playing NORMAL ball buddy.

Do you see any other winning schools playing two players under 6' at the same time?

Do you see any other winning team playing 4 guards at the same time?

All I am asking is that we play 2 Forwards, 2 Guards, and a Center.

This does NOT include playing Warren, Maniscalco, and McCain at the same time. EVER!
