NIT bound at best

I don't think we've completely thrown away our chances of getting an NCAA bid. However, here is what I believe we must do to secure an NCAA bid.

1) Obviously, we must first get past ISU on the road. You know, the usual one game at a time crap.....

2) SIU is a MUST WIN game. We need a quality road victory to add to the resume, and there's none better than sweeping one of the top teams in the MVC. The only reason I separated this step from the third is because I cannot stress enough the importance of this game.

3) We must win all remaining MVC games, especially UNI at home. No question about it. I believe this is do-able. UE may be tough on the road, but they are a very beatable team for BU.

4) Like ISU, we must also defeat VCU on the road. I'm not sure what bearing the selection committee will have on a road win over a CAA team, but it can only help. VCU is obviously a good team, and a non-conference opponent with a good record.

5) Depaul and Illinois need to stop screwing us and start winning some friggin' games away from home!

6) BU must get to at least the semi-final of the MVC tourney, and getting to the championship would put us in really good shape. Winning is possible, but it is going to be very difficult.

Basically, we need to win out the whole thing, but I do think it is possible. Don't give up hope! I'm not satisfied relegating us to an NIT bid as of yet. Yes, we played like crap against CU, but this team is too good to be taken out of consideration.

Good thing UIUC doesn't have to play AT Wisky and Ohio St - woulda been 2 more guaranteed L's.

Due to some soft Big-Televen scheduling, UIUC can easily finish 10-6 (maybe 9-7)... but scheduling could have hosed them and had to settle for maybe 8-8 (or omg 7-9).

(I wish the MVC would add 1 more team so maybe Bradley didn't have to play the top 2 teams on the road and pad our record a little ;) )
