Next Year's Intro Video

Okay, I've wondered for a long time and have been speculating. I want to know: 1. Will we use CR highlights even though he's gone and 2. What song are we going to use!?!?! I like the one from last year, but I also like how we change it most every year (that I remember). Any ideas?

No one usually knows this until the first game...

You liked the one from last year? IMHO i thought it was horrendous. Intro videos should get you fired up, instead I felt like I was watching a commercial for bowflex or something.

Knock knock...hello BU marketing staff...opportunity for a great promotion.

Let the crowd pick the intro song...maybe a text to vote type thing.

I dunno...I know I'd vote though.

Something definitely needs to be changed, like something more like a song that would help the cheerleaders get the crowd going. last years intro was a total bust, no reason with all this time in front of them that they can"t come up with something exceptional.

How about playing the BU fight song and everyone in the arena standing and clapping in unisome and yelling when the starters are announced?

Needing a video to get fired up, or using some stupid rap or remix song... come on thats all a joke right?

I'm all for that Houston. I'd like to see it like at the Fieldhouse. Turn out the lights and as each player is introduced put the spotlight on him as he runs to center court. The fieldhouse used to rock and so would the civic center.

While I'm all for tradition, times have changed. The Fieldhouse used to rock. So why did we move to the Civic Center? We won a national championship with all white players, why change that? (not calling anyone racist or anything, highlighting a point)

The players and fans get more excited using a good high tempo song with a beat that they can feel thumping on their chest. It's the way it is, expecting BU to do something different because we did something different back in someones heyday is kinda like when dad's used to say rock and roll was rubbish. Times have changed, they players are different, we should do what works the best at getting the team hyped up.

The whole tire flipping and chain link lifting bits were pretty bad. It felt like under armour gone wrong. I dont mind the zombie nation techno in general, but it seemed tacky and didnt mesh with at all after the video. I think next years will be better if only because of the fact that it most likely wont be the same

BU moved to the Civic Center because they outgrew the fieldhouse and had a modern facility that could attract better opponents, and did. Don't remember BU winning a national championship with all white players, if that's what you're implying. I'm not against the videos, but I guess I'm saying it's a little ridiculous to go to such extremes when our team is struggling to be in the top half of the Valley. I enoyed the video after the Sweet 16 run. Something to be proud of. To have a video like the past few years and then stuggle to beat Wofford and get beat by West Carolina is embarrassing.

The vid will probably focus around their rumored "new marketing campaign", which I REALLY hope isn't anything like this whole Red Sea Elite crap. Would it be too much to ask that, over the music we could hear the call by Dave Snell and Coach? It would pump me as a fan and i'm sure it would pump the players up to hear their calls for CR's dunk against Creighton, and the wins over Illinois and Northern at home with the crowd cheering in the background.

Subjectivity is a wonderful thing. Luciano Pavrotti's rendition of Nessun Dorrma strikes me as a great choice for the new intro. video.

The team shouldn't need a video to get pumped up...they're playing a basketball game.

The video should be there to get the crowd pumped up. Yeah Yeah, you could say that the crowd should be pumped up too...and a lot of us do get pumped up before the games...but there are a lot of students and fair-weathers that need a little extra jolt of excitement to really get into it.

For that reason, I think rap is definitely not the way to go. Our, um, older and whiter crowd probably listens to rock.

I don't have any song suggestions...just thinking out loud I guess.

I guess its just me but I get fired up for each and every game and I only watch on the internet.

But when I went to every game I didnt need some video to get me ready for a game. Yes watching Alaska Anchorage was not going to get the blood flowing but for most games there was no need to have to have a "jolt" to get into a game.

A fairweather fan isnt going to get hyped off of a video either, the only thing that gets someone like that excited is winning.

And I really dont think for a player having some video or song playing gets them ready for a game. I really dont think many pay a whole lot of attention to what is playing or going on. Most should be excited when they are introduced, its during a game in the middle of the 2nd half where players need to have energy from the crowd and to feed off that energy.

Personally, I want a guy focused, calm and ready at tip, not out of his head going wild... energy tends to die when a guy is hyped after about 3 minutes. I want a mentally ready player at tip.

But if I were to have a deciding vote on the footage of a video, it is going to be nothing but great/exciting plays from BU basketball history with as much audio as possible.

If it wasn't for our, um, older and whiter crowd we wouldn't be talking about a video scoreboard.
