Kinda nice that Bradley has an advantage on the preparation time compared to Creighton.

The Creighton road record of 1-6 overall and 1-3 in conference is encouraging for Wednesday (the lone win coming at Evansville). Plus, they've been outrebounded overall and in conference.

This game could turn into a trap game.:D

No really, this game is actually the single most important game in Jim Les' career. Maybe in the history of the world. Really. Just sayin'.:D

Then again, it's just another game.

I haven't seen Creighton too much, so I'll try to catch them on ESPNU Sunday night.

I think the timing is great for this game. The students are back and I think the crowd will be into the game since they know what CU has done to Bradley in the past decade. It would be nice to have a real home court advantage on Wednesday night.

Someone help me, but Creighton "turned us down a few notches" (as the old man used to say) on HOF night at home last year. I don't remember where we were in the standings, but things were looking up and they just throttled us. The game was never close.

IMO we need to be ready for A LOT of zone. Most teams will play some zone, but aren't comfortable playing it for extended periods. Not Creighton. They will play it all night if needed. This year we have the shooting to be a good zone offensive team along with great quickness insided (TB and WE). Just need to be ready.

Our schedule looks realy favorable, but the teams coming into our place are quality teams. We can't afford a another hiccup at home on Wed. Go Braves, just be READY!

I have seen Creighton play a few times and have checked out their stats and they are not a very good 3 point shooting team, they score most of their points inside , they have no Booker Woodfox"s that can consistently knock down outside shots so I think it is important to guard the paint more and force them to take more outside shots.
This should be the 1st sell out of the year and the team needs a great 6th man out of the crowd from start to finish.

Yup that's right --

Early on freshman Ethan Wragge was hitting 3's, but just as soon as the opponents got some tape and learned his moves, now his 3-pt shooting has declined...
he is 9-26 in Valley play compared to his 23-48 shooting against their pre-conference schedule.
P'Allen has taken the most 3-pointers on their team and as expected, he's forcing plenty and hitting only about 28%.

As a team in Valley conference play, Creighton ranks DEAD LAST in 3-pt shooting pct...
and Bradley is FIRST, believe it or not!!

3-POINT FG PCT G 3FGM 3FGA Pct
1. Bradley 9 56 147 .381
2. Illinois State 9 62 167 .371

I...can't....go....to this game. :mad::evil::mad::evil:

I hate night classes.

That's too bad!

I, on the other hand, will be making my first trip to Peoria this season! What a great time to be heading down there, I hope. :D

I think that this game is definitely a great barometer for where we truly stand in the league. I don't think it's really worth belaboring any games we should win (Evansville at home, Missouri State at home) or lose (at Wichita, at Northern Iowa). These are the sorts of "coin flip" games that really will determine if we finish in the top 3 or finish 7th or 8th.

Should be an interesting game tonight between Creighton and Missouri State. Creighton is the worst 3-point shooting team (MSU is one of the best), but Missouri State is by far the worst team at 3-point defense. They have allowed opponents to shoot 38.2% overall on 3-pointers, and 45.6% in conference play. The next worst teams are 35.9% overall and 41.7% in MVC games.
Also an interesting stat is that Creighton is the best rebounding team in MVC play averaging 35.8 rpg, but they are also the worst team in giving up rebounds at 37.1 rpg allowed.
Missouri State has the highest field goal percentage at 46.2%, and they yield the highest opponent's field goal percentage at 47.7%. Not surprising is that MSU leads in scoring at 75.0%, and gives up the most points at 74.5 ppg.
One other surprising stat is that in MVC games, Creighton is easily the worst free throw shooting team at 65.2%. That could hurt them if the game is close.

After watching the CU/MSU game on Sunday night, I'll be dissappointed if Bradley can't beat this CU squad. This doesn't look like a typical Dana Altman team.

Missouri State looked like the better team last night, but it's not coincidence that Creighton is 9-1 at the Quest Center and 1-9 away from there.

There is only one thing about Creighton that scares me - Their press. Even during Saturday's relatively easy win, we had trouble handling a press. Full-court pressure has cost us three home games already, I hope it doesn't cost us a 4th. Man for man Creighton might have more talent than us, but they sure don't show it. They are not very good this year. We are a better team, and should win this game if we can break pressure effectively.

I just about wrote that in one of my posts. I would assume that BU works on their press break alot this week. You know it is coming with CU. The other teams have sprung it on Bradley when they were behind.

Missouri State was getting some real good, quick shot opportunities when they did break the press. I don't know if BU will attack or set up the offense when they do break it.

I hate night classes.

I bet you are looking pretty pale BG, and starting to cough and starting to run a temperature. My guess is by next Wed you will be pretty sick and in no shape to go to class!!

I also think a healthy dose of fresh 'Kool Aid' would be just the thing Wed night to get you better. ;)

No, we need to defend just like we have been defending. (Except the end of the Evansville game where we packed it in and went zone, JL said that coaching change cost us our <60 ppg defensive sreak, on him.)

2-3 is the best defense against Creighton...

Also, I agree BG- skip it!

I can not remember a professor at the school who would've been p*ssed at me for choosing a game over class...most already know what your choice will be if you can make up the work...

Just as long as its not exam night.

Trust me the thought has crossed my mind. This isn't exactly the type of class you should skip though. For one thing it's extremely hard (and related to the research I'm doing so it would look bad to the professor - whom I'm working with) and second there are only 3 people in the class so it would be very clear that I'm not there.

Maybe I'll go just for the 2nd half.

Interesting statistic. Per ESPN this morning, of the 46 teams ranked in the API, only 12 were in the top 50 schools in Team 3PT FG% and only 15 were in the top 50 schools in Team 3PT FG made per game.

Perhaps not as important a statistic as we think.

Have you tried reasoning with your professor?

I am guessing that you must know him/her fairly well and have a good rapport with them if you're one of 3 in the class...

Try dropping by the office or an email in the next couple days and see if you can work something out...

I used to do this myself on occasion...as I have stated 50 billion times...I would've had to be sedated in a hospital to miss a single game, and never actually did...

My home streak rivals that of Reynolds and Snell... :D

Also pretty good considering I drive 3 hours give or take...(unless I schedule a "business" CC where I can already be in Peoria)
