New Brandon Jennings Under Armor shoes

So Under Armour is the next big shoe now? Weird how things change. It does look pretty sharp though.

As that article says, there are a number of new shoe companies trying to get a bigger share of the global athletic shoe market.
Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon signed with Adidas, John Wall signed with Reebok, and Evan Turner signed with Li-Ning of China.

Personally, I like the Under Armor shoes, but I think these Li-Ning shoes of Evan Turner's are a bit ugly-

But there are over a billion people in China, and that could mean a lot of shoes sold.

All I can say is, nothing spectacular.
I don't like their look personally.
O.k. - I'm moving past NBA now...College Hoops on the horizon!

Maybe I skimmed the article too fast, but.... Not anywhere did I read anything about fit, comfort, stability, breathability, performance, etc of THE SHOE.

But here we are in the world today. It's all about marketing. Doesn't matter if the shoe is a piece of crap - so long as consumers connect with Jennings.... SOLD!

The consumers are a bunch of knotheads that don't know anything!

WOW....you get your own shoe when you average 15.5 ppg?

Heck, Hersey Hawkins averaged about 15 a game for his career, and that includes the last 2 or 3 years when he was hurt.

I had never heard of Brandon Jennings before this thread. I have no idea who he is.

The only reason I know anything about him at all is SportsCenter. They're just like everything else- they gotta market the players too I guess. This would surely explain "Tebow-mania" HUGE hype for a backup QB just like Brady Quinn.

I really feel bad for any athlete that takes too much stock in sportscenter or any media for that matter. It's blatantly obvious that they could care less about the negative affects an article can bring. All's they want is people to click their links imo.

One exception is E60. One of my favorite shows on TV- I watch it every time it's on.

B-N-C:

I didn't know who he was either. Since you mentioned you didn't either, I Googled and read the wikipedia page on him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Jennings

"On July 16, 2008, Jennings signed with Lottomatica Roma of the Italian Lega A.[11] The contract he signed with Roma was for $1.65 million net income guaranteed[12] and after earning the contract with Lottomatica, Under Armour gave Jennings a $2 million contract[13] to showcase their products in the Euroleague. Jennings was the first player to play for a European team rather than play for a college basketball team since the NBA's age restriction rule was implemented."

BuB55: I chuckle at myself, I didn't know what E60 was... so I had to google for that too. It's no wonder I didn't know what it was - I don't watch ESPN channels unless it's college hoops and I usually turn the volume off and look away during commercials (at computer or another game).

I cannot believe that we are actually promoting and bringing attention to a professional basketball players shoes on bradleyfans.com. Is news that slow???

Oh g*d yes. Take note of the same arguments dragging on for 4 weeks, just in different threads.

I probably would of banked $150 in my CBS Fantasy Basketball league last season if it wasn't for John Salmons stealing Jennings thunder after he was traded from the Bulls the last month of season. Jennings was a stud before Salmons came, they never had any chemistry after the trade.

You do not follow the pros at all??? I'm a college fan but a few guys I play hoops with follow nothing but the pros and all of them gushed about Jennings and how sic he was.

Hes a rising power in the league. I first started following him when he was supposed to go out to Arizona for school couple years back, but couldn't get qualified. Tried twice i think with the ACT, but tossed out a third attempt and just set off abroad. I was basically just interested in seeing how it would change his draft stock. It didn't change it much at all really. He would of gone straight to the association provided the rule didn't exist.

The only pro basketball I have ever watched in its entirety was the last couple games of the Bulls/Celtics series a year or two ago. NBA basketball to me is extremely boring. I've tried getting into the Bulls, but I can hardly make it through quarter before I am dying to turn the channel.

I must admit that I am somewhat surprised at how well Jennings is doing in the pros. He played very poorly in Europe. Saw a lot of bench time, and was constanty in trouble with his coach who felt that he did not play or practice very hard. Also, Jennings was forever complaining about his coach and team. As it has already been pointed out Jennings was unable to qualify grade wise and ACT wise. He went to Europe as a last resort as he could not qualify through the college route.

What you are saying about him was how the media painted him at first but he went through a maturity process while out there and even the coaching staff in Italy gushed about him. There's another player that went to Israel last year that went there as a prima dona and was essentially kicked off the team.
