MVC goes 4-0 Tuesday 3/15

Rider won by 20 AT USC this season. You can see USC in the Big Dance tonight...

I really don't see the logic in that at all? Bradley beat USC as well, and our coach was fired, so what? I'm sure you could find trends all over the place, for example, just off the top of my head ... Again, we beat USC and USC beat Texas earlier this year, does that mean we are a better team then Texas? Certainly not. The comparison of this team beat this team and so on is a terrible argument in most cases.

My point was that it is a big deal that the MVC went 4-0 last evening. It could easily be argued that Evansville was playing an opponent better than them, and considering UNI was 1-7 after losing O'Rear, you could easily make the argument that Rider was better than them. Murray State's pretty solid too...Morehead State from that league won at Indiana State late in the year. Hofstra, Rider, and Murray State were not pushovers like some on this thread seem to believe.

I agree, especially in the case of Missouri State's win over Murray State. A Racer team that just last year won an NCAA tournament game, was their regular season conference champion this season, and is a solid mid-major program.

Hofstra is a good, good win, especially for UE - that's a team that tied VCU in the Colonial standings. In fact, it's a mini-travesty that Hofstra was forced to go on the road to UE for that one, although I suspect $$$$ came into play obviously.

Murray St is a quality win, RPI be darned.

The other 2 should've been wins, and were.

Actually they tied ODU for 2nd. VCU was 4th.
A quality opponent. That does not diminish the win.
Good job ACES

First- I agree that this is a good win for Evansville as well as for the other MVC teams last night.

But I do sense a slight hypocrisy brewing here. Bradley beat some pretty good teams in the CBI in 2008 (Cincinnati, Ohio, Virginia, Tulsa) and the CIT in 2009 (Austin Peay, Oakland, Pacific), and there were some fans here demeaning those wins and minimizing their significance. How many times have we heard about these worthless EIEOU tournaments when it was Bradley competing, and minimizing the 20+ wins those seasons because of the extra wins generated by these "meaningless" tournaments.

Now some of the same people are telling us how impressive these wins are when it's Evansville, CU, or UNI playing in the CBI/CIT.

Ditto from me, and that's why I actually like these tournaments. No one said they are ultimate goal, but they are still solid tournaments nonetheless.

And we were only four or five close losses from getting into one of these tourneys. Hopefully at the very least we can finish around .500 next year and participate in one of them.

Btw, don't tell Wichita St fans that they don't like being in the "Not In Tournament" tourney. WSU is blasting Nebraska now 52-25 early in the second half! And all in front of a very raucous crowd.

I'm probably guilty of this - there is no need to overhype these wins (at least the CBI/CIT wins). They're cute but ultimately aren't big potatoes.

Going through my memory banks, Hofstra is a better win than any of the 7 BU had, for whatever little that's worth.
