ISU shot 2 of 13 from three. Shots just were not falling tonight outside the arc, but UNI stayed in the game due to committing only 3 turnovers in 45 minutes of play. ISU got a huge night from Craig Brackins who abused Egleseder, Koch and O'Rear for 32 points.

Box scores from last night's games-

Iowa State 71 UNI 66 - attendance only 5558 for intrastate rivalry.

In the Iowa State - UNI game, a couple stats stand out and just amaze me..
--starting guard Ali Farokhmanesh was 2-14 from the floor and 2-12 from 3-pt range.
He shoots 34% from the floor on the season and only 30% from 3-pt on the season.

and this attendance is astounding!
this game drew fewer fans than their home game last year against UIC!
Last year's game against Iowa State (at Ames, IA) drew 14,376!
Maybe they should get Quick Change!

And didn't Arkansas-Little Rock just beat Creighton?

Ali was touted as a scorer out of JUCO headed to UNI, but I was extremely unimpressed with him as he launched brick after brick. Travis Brown should get more of his minutes IMO.

The attendance was dismal tornado because the UNI muckity mucks thought it would be a good idea to charge I believe $42 per ticket for this game. The used to draw 10,000 plus fans at the Dome for the instate games so in order to make up for lost revenue when moving it to McCleod, they decided to up the price. Well, they upped themselves right into a passel of empty seats.

UALR did just beat Creighton at home and then lost to MSU at MSU.

Holy *** no wonder no one was there!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an observation....the game between UNI and Iowa State was played at Northern Iowa and only 5558 showed up...

BUT-- check out the photo gallery from the game...
the red and gold apparrelled people are Iowa State fans, and they make up a pretty good percentage of the crowd...
maybe 10%??

Couldn't they have moved just that one game back to the bubble dome?

Two years ago we played in the Dome even after McCleod was open and at the time, Hartzel said he would NEVER let Greg play int he McCleod. If they are going to charge that price. there is no need for more seats.

I just read where this was the first road win for Iowa State in MORE than a year.

yes, it was huge to get a road win against UNI and log Greg's first win against a Valley team at iSU. We SHOULD have beaten Hawaii two weeks ago to log our first win, but got screwed.
