Michigan State wins

It goes to show you that no matter how good the defense is, the teams with the offensive firepower and size will win most of the time. Of course there was some very poor ball handling by MSU, some of it due to North Carolina, but mainly their fault. So MSU could have made this closer if they played the style of ball they are known for. But I think UNC would still have won this rather easily.

No doubt that UNC has the firepower to blowout anybody. I was hoping MSU could control the tempo...but it wasn't happening tonight

This Carolina team may well be the most talented college team ever! Every starter and a few reserves will play in the NBA one day.

I was thinking the same thing. This was a semi-pro team at the least! This is one dominating team. How they lost 3 ACC games is beyond me!

Final:

UNC wins 89-72.

Well congrats to UNC. Hats off to Lawson and Hansbrough for returning another year to cap off the championship. They could of easily been selfish and went after the big bucks last year but decided to finish it off. That's generally not the mentality these days so good for them.

4 losses including FSU in the ACC tourney:)....when they play well they do dominate....

Geez, I went to bed at halftime. If Mich. St. would have come within 10 by the half, I would have been interested in the game. But it wasn't even close.

It just goes to show that when an athletic team chooses to play defense they can be very, very good. A team of this caliber could easily go undefeated in college (even in the ACC) if they chose to show up and play defense every night

In the end, the team with the most McDonald's All Americans wins...

In fact, from the round of 32 teams on, pretty much the team with the most McD AA's wins out. (Duke and USC were exceptions).

When the tourney began, 21 teams had at least one McDonald's All-American on their roster and 44 did not have any. Eleven teams with McDonald's All-America talent reached the Sweet 16.
39 of the other 44 had been eliminated by then.

North Carolina had the most McDonalds All Americans of the schools in the NCAA Tournament, they had eight:
Hansbrough, Green, Frasor, Lawson, Ellington, Davis, Drew, Zeller.
So it appears that coaching can only carry you so far.....
Duke had seven....so where were they???
