Max B. again

Saw Max play last night vs Central...there were at least two college coaches in attendance..Max had a brutal game inside...Central was really physical and played some intense defense all night...not a pretty game, but entertaining to say the least...I think Max had 21 points..not sure about the boards...but Central did not get too many second chances...

ND has a nice balanced team...big 3 pint shots by Reynolds and Matthews....a couple of nice drives by Dmo as well..late in the game...Lane is a fiery kid...scrappy group of players...

Really liked #25 for Central .....Hate to say I forgot his name..but that youngman can play...is it Kellum?

saw Max play last night for the first time and I was not impressed at all. The kid would get dominated in the valley IMO. He was getting pushed around all night by Central kids that were 6'2-6'4. He didnt make a shot over 5ft. The refs were pretty brutal and favorable to him as he shot 20 free throws!! He did make 15 of them so 75% is pretty good for a big man. I'm sure he probably had 12 boards and 3 or 4 blocks but its only because of the competition hes playing against. I was not really impressed by ND. They are ranked no 1 in state and are still undefeated but there just must not be any real elite teams out there this year. Central was much more quick and better on D than ND IMO. ND has a nice couple of shooters like David Molanari who compliment Max very well. I would not offer Max after last night performance.

Blasphemy! Blasphemy I say!

I'm not sure there are many people in the country who know more about Max's game than Jim Les. Coach might not think he is good enough, or there could be a million other reasons why either BU or Max are not interested. The little I have heard from people around PND is that the disinterest is mutual.

This was the 1st time you saw him? That game was ugly and I am sure you came away with a bad impression...you were right when you said he was getting pushed around by Central kids(pl) because he was double and tripled teamed all night...something he will not have to face once he is in College playing...I did think he got some favorable calls a couple of times, seemed like the Central defenders had arms straight up and still got called for a foul...glad you aren't a recruiter :) one night can not be the judge...

He's local and I understand why there is talk of the kid but we all know that the chance of him playing at BU regardless of talent level or our interest one way or the other is going to happen. The reasons have been hashed over more then a late night meal after a night of going out with with the guys.

From what I have seen, this is an excellent comparison for Max!

Except Max has the ability to step back and hit the occasional 3 and has a really good mid range jump shot. He just doesnt need to with the team that surrounds him at ND since he has good shooters around him.

I'm glad you arent a recruiter either. The times when he didnt get double teamed he was taking fade away 12 footers and wasnt ever close. How can you say he would play in the MVC if he was getting pushed around by a kid that was 3 inches shorter than him?? A weak 6'6 kid cant play the 4 spot in the valley and I havent heard anyone say the kid can shot the ball good enough to play a 3.

Heemy not sure how many times you've seen him but he can play at BU no doubt. I don't think he wants to though. Just hope he doesn't go to another Valley school. There's a guy up the road by the name of Rice that some on here wanted but don't think we were interested and look how thats worked for us.

A smaller, slightly more athletic Sam Singh I think is a good comparison. He dominated the HS ranks too ya know. ;)

BB if singh stays healthy for 4 years he would have been an extremely productive and a successful 5 in the Valley. He was quite athletic and would have only expanded his game after his freshman year. If this player from ND is then compared to Singh though more athletic then its pretty obvious he would workout well at BU.

Never seen him but it is pretty apparent to me if he was interested in BU BU would find a way to bring him in, I can not imagine his game is not better then Well's. But I do not see where currently his game fits into the need of a shooter this program is dieing for.

Unless he can walk in and take the 5/4 and its his for 4 years to me this program really is in desparate need for a player who can make a jumpshot and spread the floor.

Greg Stewart had a piece in Preps Plus reporting a recent visit by Max to Michigan.

Says their final scholy may be between Max and one other un-named recruit.

You must have been watching a different Sam Singh than I was. At no point was he ever athletic. Overweight perhaps, but not athletic.

When Sam first arrived in Peoria I was able to watch him play summer ball at the Rec Plex and he moved fairly well for a big man, I do believe he would have been a much better player if he would not have had the knee injuries, he never was the same player I saw after his injuries, even though he was not a star at BU I will always admire him for what he went thru as a lot of players would have called it quits if they had to go thru all the rehabs Sam went thru in his career at BU.
