Love to see a Cards-Yankees World Series

Long time Cardinal fan.
My favorite World Series of all time was the 1964 St.Louis-Yankees series.

I would love to see another one (albeit a Cards-Tigers series would also be OK). There have been a few of those through the years too-'34, '68 & '06 (although I wasn't around for the one in 1934):D

EDIT: of course I wasn't around for the earlier Cards-Yanks World Series either- '26,'42,'43

I was hoping for the O's to pull it out but it just was not in the Cards.

What a great comeback from the Cards last evening! I was upset that the O's lost to the Yanks but I can't imagine the hurt that the Nat fans must be feeling.

OK so I'm hoping that SF wins it all and I'd have to say they have the best pitching staff out of the remaining teams. I predict a NY - SF WS in play but this time of year anything is possible. Should be an exciting next 2 weeks.

Giants' fans seeking revenge for 1962 World Series defeat to Yankees.

Series tied 3-3, bottom of 9th, Giants 2 on, 2 out with McCovey at the plate. McCovey scorches the ball, but line drive caught by Richardson for final out.

Would be sweet for the Giants to face the Yankees again this year for the Series title. Sweeter if the Giants get the job done this time!

What a game Zito threw tonight! I had a discussion with this guy who was not hot on him starting and I said he's either on or not. Obviously he was on! Back to SF for game 6. Great series so far. Biggest surprise for me this series has been The Cards bullpen.

You gotta love game 7 in any series. Giants - Cards, Cain - Lohse and two of the last WS champions fighting it out! It's been great weather here in SF lately but the forecast predicts rain tomorrow. Let's hope there's a nice 4 hour window tomorrow early evening. I predict a close game. Neither manager is going to give their starters much room for error when both have a very rested bullpen.

Next Up, Detroit!

The Cards defensively did not show up? The Giants are once again the underdog. If Posey can get his swing back I like their chances. Besides Verlander I like SF's pitching staff over Detroit.

Giants are up 2-0 but I'm not going to bet against The Tigers at home. Leyland is one of the all time best managers in baseball and he'll have his team ready to play ball. The Giants are right now playing great baseball. They will be sending their two best pitchers to the mound this weekend. The downside is that they are both right handed pitchers and Detroit has a much better hitting average against righties. I'd bet that the Series returns to SF with The Giants leading 3-2.

I'm a little bit baffled by the so called experts that picked The Tigers to win this series handily. The Tigers only won 88 games. One thing about baseball is that statistics, usually are fairly accurate on how a team will do over 5-8 game series. The Giants have pretty much played flawless baseball and are winning these games as they have all year (except for Panda's HRs). Tigers' hitting will have to find a way to score runs if they want to make this series competitive.

Just a great run by the Giants. Probably the least likely team who people thought would win the Series when the playoffs started...but they really put it all together.....clutch hitting, dominant pitching, great fielding and Bochy made all the right moves....

Even though they won 94 in regular season they were somewhat inconsistent and a team of streaks....they got on a good one when it counted though

Buck and McCarver

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Once St Louis was out of the playoffs, Fox was doomed with these two turkeys behind the mikes.

Put this on ESPN if they want viewers.....

Of course, what do I care about National Ratings?

They will be worse next year when Giants Win the WS for the 3rd time in 4 years, over the A's

Go Giants!
