Lindy's Preseason report

I thought this deserved a thread of its own instead of being buried in the thread about Drake.

Lindy's Preseason Basketball Publication is out and here is how they rank the teams in the MVC:

1) Creighton
2) Wichita
3) SIU
4) MSU
5) UNI
6) Drake
7) UE
8`) BU
9) IlSU
10) InSU

MVC is rated as the #7 conference

In their national rankings they have
15-Creighton (also picked to advance to Sweet Sixteen.)
17-WSU
22-SIU
24-Illinois

Anyone else find it surprising that they have CU so high?
They may have to play some or much of the season without their starting point guard and they top incoming recruit.

MVC 7th.
3 MVC teams ahead of Illinois.
Illinois predicted 3rd in B10.

- so -

3 MVC teams would be in the B10's top5.
Illinois would be 4th in the MVC.

Hmmm....

Doubt you could get ANY UIUC, B10, or BCS fans to agree.

If BU is the 8th best team in the MVC, then this year will surpass last year for the quality of basketball in the MVC. It would also indicate that the MVC might be one of the most top-to-bottom competitive conferences. I would put my money on BU against the B10 8th place team.

That seems about right. I can see BU finishing 8th. I can see them finishing 5th. It's going to be a great year for the Valley again, but we're not going to be a part of it unfortunately. Defending our home court is our key to respectability in the league this year. I don't count on any roadies, so Carver is going to have to be our friend.

I might have a chance to put my money where my mouth is since Lindy's ranked Michigan State 8th in the B10.

three valley teams ranked higher than illinois. sweet. 8)
