He was over rated in highschool.
Agree 100%. I never though too highly of him, and never understood why so many did.
I don't claim to be an expert on Justin Cerasoli, but here are some facts and thoughts that I have gathered over the years since he was in high school. He was in the Class of 2004, same year as Shaun Livingston, Shaun Pruitt, Jamarcus Ellis, DeAaron Williams, Eric Verneisel, Calvin Brock, and Heremy Fears.
Isn't it odd how so many kids from this class have failed to become any impact in college, now that we are 3 years down the road.
Of the top 20 kids in this Class of 2004 in Illinois,

I would think only Justin Dentmon, Shaun Pruitt, Tommie Liddell, Matt Shaw, and Jeremy Crouch have been much of an impact and only Shaw, Pruitt, and Crouch were actually much impact after committing and staying with their committment.
Back to Cerasoli..
First, he transferred from Providence St. Mel to West Aurora as a junior in high school, then wasn't as highly recruited as you'd have expected given lots of people thought he had a lot of potential. During his senior year he dropped from #3 rated to nearly falling out of the Top 10.
Then at Seton Hall, where they had manpower problems, Cerasoli really had every opportunity to play, playing in all 26 games, starting 16, and averaging 22mpg, 6ppg, 3rpg, 2.5apg.
Those numbers are not bad for a freshman, but certainly aren't much better than Andrew Warren is getting in only 16 minutes per game.
Then after a little problem that was publicized with his coaching staff, he left Seton Hall and transferred to Ole Miss.
He sat out an entire year, then was playing as a sophomore, but was in his 3rd college year.
You'd have thought he'd be doing better than he did in the Big East as a freshman, but not the case.
Again he seemed to have problems with the coach and did not get a whole lot of playing time.
In just seven games (there were a couple games he didn't get off the bench), Cerasoli averaged ONLY 13mpg, was 9-28 from the floor (32%), 3.5ppg, 1.1rpg, 0.8apg.
So, if anyone wants to argue whether we should go after Justin Cerasoli, then I say whoa.....not with a scholarship!
We already have a similar, superiorly talented player in Jeremy Fears.
And Cerasoli's transfer tendency bothers me.
He has been at five different schools in the past 4 years!
Loyola can have the guy for the lousy 1.5 years the kid has remaining.
I will be very surprised if he really helps them that much.
