Johnny Knox' 102 yard "touchdown" run

Did anyone else see the 102 yard kickoff return by Bears' returner Johnny Knox? Did anyone else think Knox dropped the ball a little too quickly, maybe before he crossed the goal line? I did, though IMO the officials and the TV crew missed it.

IMO, there is no quesiton he lost possession of the ball before the ball crossed the goal line, so it should have been a fumble
 
Yeah, I dunno... He threw the ball backwards and it still landed in the end zone. It's close enough that had it been challenged it wouldn't have been overturned, I think.
 
From this camera angle there really is no way of knowing. I'm convinced that with the ball tucked with his right arm, when he pumped his arm while running, the ball crossed the line making it a touchdown and then he threw it backwards. Since the ball would have already crossed the line, it would be a touchdown.
