In another thread somebody asked about how quickly it had been done.. so I did some digging this morning and I believe these numbers to be right....

Chuck Orsborn won his 100th game in game #120
Forddy Anderson did it in 125
AJ Robertson in 155
Joe Stowell in 161
Dick V. in 162
Mo in game #178
and JL is sitting at 98 wins in 181

How long did it take Stan Albeck?

I don't know what I was thinking earlier--Stan didn't make it. I guess I had thought he went a year or two extra past his contract but he was 5 years and out. I think he wound up at just under 80 wins. Anyone know how he is doing since the stroke?

Stan ended up 75-71 at BU..

I saw a piece some time back on him.. Still struggling- voice is weak, but still gets to Spurs game and is treated very well by them....

That would be former Braves coach Dick Versace.

Sorry--makes sense. But, I would never have thought about using a nickname for Vitale in reference to Versace;-) It didn't even click--other than being part Italian and being a basketball coach, they really do not have much in common so I wouldn't want to offend Coach Versace ;-)

In his 7 seasons Versace had: 3 regular season titles, 1 conference tournament title, 1 NIT championship, 2 NIT appearances, 2 NCAA appearances, a team that reached #8 in the polls, a 30+ win season, 2 20 + win seasons, seasons of 16,17, and 18 wins, and 2 2,000+ point scorers. The year after he left was the Hawkins national player of the year team. I grew up following the team during these years, so I think that could explain why I am wanting more out the program we have had the last few years--especially when I see both Creighton and SIU where we once were as a program. I also attended BU when Molinari quickly brought the team back to respectability. My Sr. year was the first of the 20+ win seseasons in a row that had 2 NIT appearances followed by the MVC crown with an NCAA appearance, follwed by a 4th year in a row with another NIT apearance. The Molinari years were basically NIT team after NIT team, and the powers that be deemed that level of success mediocre. With the standards we have for the program, I guess that is why some of us criticize a little more than some care to hear or understand :-)
