Jerrance Howard situation

Clearly,KW has engaged in an ill-timed and "mean spirited" use of his position in an attempt to "monkey wrench" the selection of a new coach. Why report now on a relatively minor misdemeanor that occurred months ago. kW has lost all credibility as a Sports Editor.
As for hiring JH as our new coach, here is what I think:
1. I would like to hear much more about the specific details of the incident, the court decision, etc.
2. I would like to hear what Bill Self has to say.
3. I would like to hear or read a statement from JH so I could assess his attitude and understand more about where he is coming from.
4. And finally and most importantly, everyone should understand that the decision regarding JH is up to the new Athletic Director....It's his call. He should also probably run it by the BOT .

Hit piece plain & simple
Howard has not been brought up as relevant to the Bradley situation, so for a hit piece like this, on a minor offense - a misdemeanor that he's nearly finished serving a supervision period and no further legal action pursued..
This is indeed a mean-spirited attack on a guy that hurts him personally and his livelihood.
Didn't the very people who produced this hit piece against Jerrance just criticize any & all talk about Dr. Glesser or Dr. Cross as unfair and mean spirited?
Utter hypocrites.

He hitched his wagon to the horses that have just spent 4-5 years running Bradley into the ground and he's made his opposition to anyone else (Les, KK, Buescher, the players left in the cupboard, any fans that opposed all these massive changes & fallout, etc..) well known, and has been their chief PR person spinning everything as good for 4 years while we've been going to he-- well, you know...
He's part of the mess that needs to be cleaned up and thrown out - and probably doesn't like what's coming

That's what is puzzling. If he wants to hurt Bradley that's fine, but to hurt an individual is unnecessary. KW has done enough to try and hurt Bradley since the hiring of Jim Les against his wishes, he didn't have to go this far and get personal.

I don't see Wessler as anti-Buescher. He gives him all of the credit for the 2006 run.

I am not sure why the article was written but how did what Kirk wrote to be true personally hurt his livelihood. That is just crazy. The person responsible for hurting his livelihood has a name and it's Jerrance. Unless that evil Kirk or someone from PJS put the weed in his car or pocket. Sounds pretty crazy doesn't it and that's what all this is blaming everyone but Jerrance . Lets place the blame where blame is due and the person to blame has been suspended for 2 weeks.

Not saying JH shouldn't be blamed. But if he wasn't mentioned as a possible coaching candidate at BU, I doubt your buddy would have made him front page news. Most fans didn't even know this had happened.

Chico I agree with you but if you were responsible for the next hire wouldn't you like to know this b4 hiring. JH still may be our next Coach but at least all the cards are on the table now. Most people in responsible positions are not fond of surprises.
 
Bradley would have found this out if Howard indeed became a candidate for the job, that as of today, isn't open. There was no good reason for Wessler to print this crap! He obviously wanted to tarnish Howard's reputation in order to push his own agenda, whatever that may be. Wessler seems to be auditioning for TMZ with this bit of trash.

he was/is a candidate being vetted and checked out, and that is how this info came to be known but someone called KW and he went front page with it

Sure kw knows who is responsible for the next hire and he could have informed them if they didn't already know. IMO, his reason for doing it this way is because the same fans who wanted JL to remain as coach at BU after he didn't want him in the first place, were hoping Howard would be the next coach.
 
Just don't understand why we're shooting the messenger ,when it's Jerrance who screwed up . It sure seems to me a lot of people on here are giving a free pass to someone who doesn't deserve it. Must be a liberal thing.
 
why did half of Peoria go berserk Tuesday nite and shoot the messenger that posted about Jerrance being a candidate and other names that were candidates for AD?
Answer - cuz there are times that just because it contains some truth doesn't mean it must be trumpeted on the front page.

I don't care what section or page it was reported on, it needed to be reported. If you go to The Therapy thread on the PJ Star board KW explains how and why he reported it. It may have happened in July but as per KW they were just made aware of it Wed. afternoon. Read it . It answers a lot of our questions. Of course most on this board will be non believers so don't waste your time.
 
Just read a good post by B12 on the PJ Star board and I think it hits the nail on the head as to why it should have been reported. Would you be comfortable having a 34 year old man sitting in your living room trying recruit your son to attend his school knowing he made a very bad decision as a 34 year old. I can answer that one. Can you.
 
If I was close friends with Kirk like you and B12 are, maybe my perscpective would be different. But I'd like to think that by not being personally involved, I can be more objective. The arrest of Jerrance Howard maybe does deserve a small mention in the back of the Sports section, if at all, when it happened. It is clearly an agenda when it appears blasted across the front page, with a picture, and announcing it like it is breaking news when it is more than 6 months old.

There have been people highly critical when reports of players' DUI's are mentioned here when they do occur and when it really is news, but it is funny that some of the same people who criticize that are now defending what was done with Jerrance Howard.

Not saying JH didn't screw up. It will probably cost him in the long run. But why wait until he has been mentioned as a possible coach at Bradley to bring it up? Coincidence. I doubt it. Heaven forbid that makes me sound like a liberal.
