Jeremy Fears - Out of BU?

Heard that Jeremy Fears may not be back. BU coaching staff & Fears apparently did not see eye to eye on what was expected of him so he was released from his scholarship. Has anyone else heard that rumor?

Let me preface this by saying I hope this is a rumor with no substance, but if he hypothetically were to leave, would he have to sit out another year somewhere else if he went to D I? Would he get some sort of penalty for wasting our scholarship last year?

Yes, if he wanted to go to another Div I, he would have to sit out another year, and he would lose that year, since you only get 1 redshirt season. He could go to Div II (like Jassey) and be eligible right away next fall. Bradley would not get anything back for the scholarship year they spent on him.

I haven't heard anything final about this, so maybe it could still be resolved. But I suspect Naptown's source is a pretty reliable one.

obviously I have no clue as to this rumor, but isn't it pretty far along to get to this point? I mean he has been here a year??????

so this is serious? wow this makes me really mad and really sad at the same time...

is this where the last scholly les has been recruiting will come from?

I hope this is not true, It would greatly reduce my expactations for next year if he's gone.

Noooooooooooooo. He's just one player. We'll be OK. A team can never acheive greatness if one player dictates the way things are done. We still have MANY good players 8)

I agree completely, but that one player was really, really good. To be honest, I think the team is going to miss him because everything I've heard(mostly from a ohio source) is that he is the type of player who, in the last five minutes, can take the team on his back and through force of will put the team in a position to win. Which is something I feel like we lacked last year, WF was close, but still wasn't there. I love Ruffin, but with the game on the line he needs to do what he does best, distribute the ball. His shot against SIU in St. Louis was a bad decision, understandable under the pressure, but a bad decision. I'm not sure if JF could be that guy, but it sounds like there's a chance.

The other thought I had is that maybe JF is pursuing football, everything on the net leads to believe he could have had a heck of a football career also.

JF, Please stay and help BU win the MVC!!!

I hope we get some information on this soon, if he is indeed going to leave I will be upset. From what I have heard he is a great player.

Did I nod off and wake up in the middle of a bad dream??? :?

JF possibly leaving.....JC injures shoulder

April Fools was a couple of weeks ago. Friday the 13th was just last week.....

What the @#$%& is going on around here? :-o

I have no idea if this is true or not, but if it is you can't mourn the loss of someone
who doesn't want to play here. I hope it isn't true.

How could he leave, he already has sat out what a year and a half at least? He has used up his redshirt year and if he went some place else in D1 he would sit out another year. I think he would end up with one year left.......I hope this is all BS and that he is still part of the team. If its true then he has thrown away most of his college playing time..........

perhaps, if this is true, JF is a person that would disrupt the team. He obviously had problems at Ohio and perhaps he is not a "team" player. Perhaps he has a problem working with what the coaches wants and getting along with teammates.

Please remember I said "Perhaps" just speculating
