Wow, another hit to Bradley's and the MVC's RPI. Iowa lost in their opening game of their Hawkeye Invitational Tournament to Louisiana-Monroe 72-67 in OT--

How bad is this loss? LA-Monroe was 2-4 coming into this game (1-4 for purposes of the RPI since 1 of their wins was against D2) with an RPI of 185. Their only win was at home against a winless Alcorn State (RPI 326).

You beat me to the punch Coach. I watched this game and it was absolutely pathetic. 28 TOs. 2 FTs to win the game in regulation, both missed. 3FTs to tie it with 16 seconds, both missed. True that UL-M made an amazing streak of 3-balls to get back from 16 down, but Iowa just sat back and watched rather than fought for the game. I'm glad I can watch this mediocrity from afar rather than have to live in Iowa City again!

It never had any "luster" IMO OTHER than the fact we won...which is ALWAYS good.

Couldn't agree more - the fact we won does carry much clout ... but if we had lost the game, it would be a whole heck of a lot more meaningful ... just in a negative way.

Boy, that win at 'Padre is sure starting to lose some of it's luster.

The whole South Padre thing has not done us much good at this point! We got two home games against two "RPI killers" for the chance to play two "quality" teams, one of which was Iowa. A win over a very good Vanderbilt team is the only thing that could have made the SPI pay off.
