Indiana State at Bradley Wed. 1/30 7:05 pm

Indiana State is 9-0 at home this year, but just 1-9 on the road.

They rely heavily on the outside shot, but they don't shoot it very well.
As a team, Indiana State shoots 41.2% overall (9th in the MVC), and 33.1% from three (7th in the MVC).
Their best shooter, senior Gabe Moore is 46.1% and 38.8% from three, and their most prolific shooter and top scorer, soph Marico Stinson shoots 40.3% and 37.7%

The Sycamores also don't rebound very well. They are 8th in the MVC in rebounding, 9th in rebounding defense, and 10th in rebounding margin.

Shouldn't this be the team we beat handily then?

I mean they are awful at our main two weaknesses, which are defending shots and rebounding....

If they're taking care of this for us, then we should be alright...

I would love to expect the same intensity that was shown against ISU the previous Wednesday, but as we all know, some players only get up for those games...

That being said, I expect Daniel to be in the starting 5, along w/ Theron back in the lineup...

Would love to see Rashad and Sam Singh getting more "Salley"-type minutes and see what they can do w/ Daniel distributing...

I'm ready to roll and I shall be leaving work a couple hours early (because I can) to head up and see some great ball!

Don't worry, BU will win this game easily.:)

Uh...we still have to encourage the basketball team to not let their guard down. Considering that recently, we had 3 basketball games decided by a total of 4 points, having overconfidence on the court (and off of it) is a bad thing more than ever. We not only have to root for our team every game, but every POSSESSION (that includes the whole "quieter than a church service" crowd that appears at Carver 30 seconds after they stand on their feet). Even if they are winning, an opponent can catch up pretty fast (just look at the second half (from 10:00 to 5:00 remaining) of the Wichita State game), and even having overconfidence early in the game sometimes have disastrous consequences (see the Drake loss at Carver and the loss at Missouri State, where Bradley had a 13-0 run to start the game, I believe). Even if you are 20 points ahead, a good team can easily take that down to zero in ten minutes (or even less) of game time. You can never be ahead by too many points, and the only time you can be overconfident is if you are ahead by 20 or more points with less than 2 minutes of game time left. Then you can substitute your worst players for some garbage time.

Anyways, I do think that we will win (I'm going to the game), but I'm taking absolutely nothing for granted, and I hope our basketball team doesn't, either. As I tried pointing out, confidence is good, but overconfidence can have bad consequences.

Wow...did you just come back from Bill Belichick coaching camp? :D

Perfectly put though...

You may be right, but I hope you are wrong about Daniel.
I'd rather keep Daniel's minutes below 30 as long as possible (for a complete and total recovery). Once DR goes in, he's too good to take out, so the "bench" route is the only way to have a good game plan with somewhat limited DR minutes..

Forget about Ruff, if his minutes are around 30, I'll be ok...

We really need to do something about getting JC and Andrew closer to 30...especially JC...he's been dog tired the last few games and I feel he would play closer to his best if he were at 28-30 minutes a game instead of 35-37. Its not like we can't afford to go big for a few minutes, or even play TCS for a few...

Look at how we played w/o Theron....Insert him into the 3 spot and we can go Salley/Austin or Singh/Austin or Singh/Salley up front and get JC and Andrew some more rest...

If we don't, we're looking at another situation like w/ Will last year where our guards have no legs come Valley tournament time and then there's no way we're playing on Sunday.

No, I have never even seen Bill Belichick in person. Then again, his motto is pretty much one game at a time, which is always a good thing.

As for the game, I do think that we played great with having our bigs in the first half of the Wichita State game. Having Austin, Singh, and/or Collins inside opens up opportunities for our 3-point shooters to be wide open.

BTW, I saw some of the basketball players this morning (at around 8:55 AM) in the cafeteria, and recognized Crouch, Austin, and Maniscalco. The lunch lady was even joking to Rashad Austin when he was getting his food, saying that he didn't need to keep his hood (from his coat) on all the time. I wasn't sitting at the "basketball team" table, but Austin ended up sitting two seats to the left of me (with no one in between). Even though I have seen a few of the basketball team members in the cafeteria, it was still a bit awkward seeing them off the court, especially with one sitting near me.

I remember that feeling too, Jason. Used to live in Williams, and any time I managed to wake up at any sort of reasonable time and actually be able to eat breakfast, I'd see the basketball players in the cafeteria and be just a little star-struck (as stupid as that may sound).

Not sure whats up with my schedule but In my ECO100 class I have SM, DC, Will and Thompson, but that class has 185 people in it so don't get a chance to shoot the breeze. In my BMA class I have Lavin. I think thats about it lol.
