I am ENCOURAGED!

Missouri Brave

Five reasons:

1. BU holds Duke to a season-low 32 points in the first half. Think about that for a second.
2. Walt Lemon has no fear. He frankly needs to be on the court as much as possible.
3. A Will Egolf sighting!
4. Outrebounding Duke in the first half and staying nearly even for the game. Stunning.
5. A Will Egolf sighting!

Folks, I don't believe in moral victories and, yes, it hurts to get pasted like that on national TV. However, if BU plays with this kind of fight on defense and the boards the rest of the year, we WILL contend for the MVC title. A big "if" but we now know it is possible.

Now if only we could make a shot....let's get two non-con wins and get this party started, boys!

Missouri Brave, you will not be attacked mercilessly for "living in a bubble", looking through rose colored glasses, and drinking the kool-aid.:D
You might even get blamed for the losses.

I don't necessarily think we'll contend for the MVC title, but I do feel better about our chances for possibly staying out of the play-in round. To me, that's the goal at this point, above .500 and no game on Thursday.

Agreed. Let's start beating the EIU's and WCU's on our schedule before starting to talk about a conference title.

After the last couple of games leading up to the Duke game, I was wondering in which direction this team would go.
We played a great team, in a hostile environment, down another player, and we held our own for the first half! I think this team could still achieve something in the Valley, IF they can stay focused and play with the purpose they did in that first half.

I'm proud of em....coulda played better. Got to give some recognition that we are down 3 starters while NOT making it sound like an excuse.

Players that DO play need to step it up.

I saw effort....I saw posoitives...still work to do.

Lets learn and go on...

Hey, at the end of the day, do I think we'll contend for the MVC title? Doubtful, very doubtful. All I'm saying is IF we play defense and rebound like we did in the first half last night, we will contend. Repeating myself: it's a big IF. I hope they prove all of us wrong.

And what's wrong with Kool Aid?

I also saw some encouraging things during last nights game as well. Let's hope the effort and intensity can improve from here on.

I may be alone but give me those three starters and we give them a close game......

You are not alone dogs. I was very proud of the effort by our guys last night. We just ran out of gas from the constant pressure that Duke and the crowd put on us. I really think if we were at full strength we could have stayed with them in the second half and just maybe pulled off a Kansas/Pitt-type miracle.

I think we found our MVC team last night with DD at the point and WL at the 2-guard. I, too, would like to see DSE come off the bench for a spark when he returns. If we play with this starting lineup and intensity during the MVC season I think we have a legitimate shot in the MVC. I really do. Am I crazy? :o

When Prosser starts making any kind of shots, he's going to be good. He's missing everything right now. Get him rolling and our team changes.

Give me almost anyone that can make a shot and we'll be pretty good....this is the gang that can't shoot straight.

DD's shot is gone.....the thing I fear is teams concentrate on shutting down Warren and we are in trouble.

Yes...Pros and WE are guys that need to hit some shots to open up the outside shots.

Thing is last nite we had looks.....

Agreed. His timing is just slightly off, a lot like Lemon's. They are both still adjusting to nerves and the speed of the college game. Once they settle down I think they will both be really good. Keep playin' 'em Jimmy! :)

Hopefully no one in the Valley has a 6'8" athlete that can guard AW :(

I was encouraged with our rebounding last night, especially in the first half. We did not give up many 2nd chance points.

Andrew Warren STILL has a league leading 17.7 ppg scoring average...

I hope AW watches film and learns from the Duke game. He was scared and totally dominated by Singler. I know Singler is an All-American and future NBA player, but I would have like to see AW play as fearlessly as Walt and some of our other guys.

AW will be alright..... and I think he'll have a fine MVC season. :)
