How far will BU go this year?

I'm sure this has been a topic of discussion already, but here goes anyway.....With a talented recruiting class, will Bradley make it back to the big dance? I haven't been this excited about BU's non-conference schedule in years, although it will be agonizing having to choose sides when Bradley plays Illinois. This could benefit BU in one of two ways. It could majorly boost BU's RPI, or even if BU struggles against stiff competition, the experience may carry over to MVC play. What are all of your thoughts?

The players think they can go just as far this year. I think it will be tough to duplicate last year's NCAA bid.

I just hope that BU basketball can keep its status as being back atop the MVC. If Bradley can't get back to the NCAA, hopefully we can at least get an NIT bid.

I look for a 500 season......this year will be a struggle for depth......then look for the Braves to be a force next year with top notch talent coming in and depth at all positions!

Don't you mean IF.

Illinois will have to beat Miami (Oh) first before facing Bradley.

Just joking around.

Bradley would have to beat Rutgers 1st too... actually, I am not thinking about a Bradley/Illini matchup yet.

I think Bradley will go further than some people are thinking. We still have a great backcourt, and despite lacking a goto guy, we still have several players with Sweet Sixteen experience that at least know what it takes to win. We lack depth which could be a problem if injuries occur, but I can still see Bradley winning 18-20 games due to some easy games during the non-conference portion of their schedule, and due to their usual strong homecourt advantage. A fifth place finish is not out of the realm of possibility, but seventh may be a bit more realistic. Again though, I think they are capable of finishing higher than seventh, with at least an NIT bid.

Regardless, look for a complete change in atmosphere and crowd intensity during the home portion of the schedule. Anyone who demands that the crowd in front of them sit down during the game should be immediately removed from the premises by security!

i think we can do as well as last season in the mvc regular season with a #5 seed. also think we can make it to the championship game of the conferecne tourney, but doubtful we repeat the sweet sixteen run.

Heck, just making it to the NCAA tourney would be a great accomplishment! Fifth place and an appearance in the MVC finals should be enough for the tourney this year, if we have 20 wins.

ya gotta believe :!:

I'd love for us to win 20 or so and get back to the NCAA Tourney, but I think that will be a struggle. However, I do think we'll finish in the middle of the Valley and win the NIT in New York. :)

Nothing wrong with that either! :D

I was just looking over some things on the Yuba website, and I ran across these facts on their All Time Records Page:

All Time Yuba record for:
Record ...................Player Name ................Year

Blocks/Game .... 13 ..Lawrence Wright 2002-2003

Rebounds/Game..25 ..Zach Andrews 2004-2005

I honestly think that the only way BU makes a tournament is to win the MVC Tournament and get the auto bid to the NCAA's. And we'll probably have to win 4 in St. Louis to do that.

but..Let 'em prove me wrong!
