Hersey Hawkins has been in the NBA management now for several years. I wonder if he would ever be considered for AD or Coach?

Well - afan, I have a couple thoughts...

I think the answer is a DEFINITE Yes...but with some qualifications...

First, as I am sure you know, Hersey served Bradley in the position of MEMBER of the Board of Trustees from 2004 through 2009 then resigned for certain reasons.
Here is a picture of the Board in 2004 with Hersey

So we know he still has a love & a passion for his alma mater and for the people & fans of Bradley University.

But I think it's not likely he'd consider any renewed affiliation with Bradley after the change in administration.

I think it would be a great idea to contact Hersey to see what his current feelings are...but again, the present things going on in Hersey's life are likely to cause him to wait & see, as his own son is about to finish up his playing career and may embark on a professional basketball career.
Hersey and his family might want to wait to see what transpires.

But I would hope maybe there's a chance that we could lure him into some position here at Bradley - and I said so a couple times in prior posts...

-I suggest spend whatever it takes to hire Hersey Hawkins - call him the Director of Fan Support or whatever......

as soon as a President is in place
...
We are fortunate to have a lot of great people associated with Bradley who have poured their lives into Bradley and who would help make the right choice..
Hersey Hawkins........

Another possibility?

Another possibility?

A name that keeps rolling through my head is Tony Wysinger.

I have no idea if Bradley would be interested, or even if he would be.

But my thoughts are tha we have a local guy, well known in the area, with college coaching experience, who the local talent would probably like to play for.

I am wondering why his name has not been brought up.

Are there reasons that I am unaware of?

As an unrelated side note, Tony is a heck of a good bowler in a town that loves bowling.

I have heard his name mentioned, but I do believe it is a real long-shot.

He is a Division II junior college coach, and I doubt there has ever been a D1 school that ever hired a D2 juco coach in the history of the NCAA.

However, I wouldn't rule him out becoming involved eventually in some way since he is an acquaintance of some of the other leading names being thrown around.

Thanks coach. Although i believe JL had no college coaching experience at all, and he had what some of us think was a nice run. I like the idea of a local guy who knows what BU means to us getting the job. That would be my wish.
