Here's how the big schools do business

After University of Kentucky agreed to a home and home deal with UMass, now they want out of the return game in Boston.

Their little antics will cost UMass an estimated $300,000 in lost revenue for a high profile home game, but what the hey....
they are Kentucky and I guess they can do anything they want to do.
Their excuse....they "didn't want to have five games away from Rupp".

Have we heard yet if Cincy will do the same this season to one of their opponents?

Has Cincy bought out yet of the return game to ISU?

Not yet and they are not expected to either. I don't remember the exact figure, but Zenger hammered them with a very high $$$ buyout clause so financially it wouldn't be prudent for them to buy out the game.

Besides after the quality road loss they'll endure it will be a boost to their RPI.

I agree that the big schools have no respect for any other school, and they will do whatever it takes to win, with no real respect for anything or anyone.

Seems really simple. Do not put a buy out clause in the contract. Kentucky is doing what both schools agreed upon when they signed the contact. If they were refusing to not pay the buy out amount then thats a huge problem. But UMass signed the same document Kentucky signed.

I wonder if BU and Michigan State have a buy out for the return game this year here in Peoria?

This is great in theory, but most guaranteed game contracts with BCS schools are contingent on having a buy-out clauses in the contract. Maybe Michigan St. isn't like that, but most insist on having the clause and there are times when they become deal-breakers.
