Hawks Win the Stanley Cup!!!

I hope they keep him too. No way Sharp or Niemi go, at least I hope not. Don't ask me to do analysis any of this, I know nothing about the salaries they make or salary cap, why not just raise the cap.

A second topic in this thread -
Sox win their sixth in a row last night!!
they are really on a roll the last 30 days, 23-5, I'd like to see those numbers for the Braves or better.

2 minutes, unless you want to keep watching http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=9837719&topic_id=8878724&c_id=cws

:D

It's unbelievable!, after a prior 11 game win streak just a couple weeks ago.

It's seven in a row now!

Can they make it eight tomorrow, I hope so. I can't remember two big streaks like this with the Sox. They play at the Twins after the break, that will be a key series.

Now 24-5 in their last 29 games. That would be a good basketball record for our Braves :) Go Braves!

Just got back from the White Sox game. Gavin Floyd, like most of the Sox pitchers is almost unhittable recently. The Sox fans are getting excited!

What's to be said, Eight in a Row!

If you like to see pucks flying along the ice, you'll also like this - four home runs in one inning and a grand slam two innings later, watch and enjoy http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=9907099&topic_id=8878724&c_id=cws

It's going to get tougher now for the Sox with their next 10 on the road, all three destinations where they have had hard times winning, I'll settle for 5-5 and hopefully 6-4, but who knows, they could keep the streak going!

Interesting note, 16 of their last 22 games of the season are at home with three games against Detroit in those 16.

The NHL has a tradition that all the players on the Stanley Cup winning team can have a day with the cup in their hometown to do whatever they want with it. After traveling around Canada and Europe for the past couple months, the Stanley Cup was in Buffalo, NY yesterday with Patrick Kane-

Some followup regarding the "missing puck" controversy from the 2010 Stanley Cup finals. The Blackhawks would like to locate that puck.

The Blackhawks won the 2010 Stanley Cup with a gamewinning goal by Patrick Kane in overtime in game 6 in Philadelphia. However, in the ensuing celebration, the puck disappeared, and has never been found. Several theories have emerged, including one that linesman Steve Miller was rumored to have picked up the puck after it was removed from the goal. He has vigorously denied that he ever touched the puck, but now newly discovered photos from the Chicago Tribune archives have been found that clearly show Miller picking up the puck and skating away with it.-

According to the Tribune, they were taken from a Tribune photographer's camera that was mounted behind the goal. Apparently they have several such mounted cameras around the arenas, and they are remotely operated, and shoot several photos per second when they are activated. Thus, the Tribune has many thousands of photos filed on disks after each game, and most simply remain archived after the Trib decides which photos to use on the website or in the newspaper. These were among those thousands that were archived and never before looked at.
