Great Effort, Unacceptable Loss

The skill of the shooter and the quality of the opponent matter far more than anything else.

Shooting against Wisconsin and its players/defense and then Bradley and its players/defense is quite different. At one point vs. Wisconsin Wofford was 4-27 from the floor. I don't think it had anything to do with the shooting background at the Kohl Center and everything to do with the players on the floor for the Badgers.

#10 is a very, very good shooter. Just watch the kid shoot it. Same for #2. They got shots they could make against BU and hardly a sniff against the Badgers.

agree with you...probably the biggest factor in shooting % is.....defensive pressure...you know #10 hit some crazy shots under a ton of pressure...

No, this opinion is not in the minority. Realize that most positive supporters don't post and tend to stay away from argumentative threads.

That's true. Just like 95% of sports talk radio listeners do not ever call in. It's usually only the 5% that are the most argumentative that do. Great point DC.

I agree that this opinion is not in the minority. Don't know of anybody who thought otherwise. However, after victories there are one thread after another with positive thoughts and opinion. You have to expect the same after a disappointing loss. Have to disagree that supporters, as I consider myself, tend to stay away from argumentative threads. Many of the same posters post in practically every thread. Nothing wrong with that. That's what this forum is all about.

I don't have a problem with negative threads after a loss. I do have a problem though with people who turn on the coach after one bad loss and four games into his career here. Much too early to be grading Geno. Two or three years down the line, have at it.

Can't mean me. All I've said on this thread is that it was a disappointing loss. If that's turning on the coach then I guess everyone is turning on him because I would hope we were all disappointed. I'm behind Geno 100% as I am with every BU coach.

I think we were all disappointed by that loss Chico. Wofford is a team that we should have beaten, especially at home. Let's hope our young team learned a lesson that carries forward to future home games, particularly in-conference. Gotta hold that home court! :)

Heck, I'm argumentative and I'm staying away from this thread... ;) Though I do think that many are taking GWright's comment entirely out of context. I do kinda of agree with what he is saying. It's not that we shouldn't have lost, it's that we shouldn't be OK with losing these types of games. I guess I'm immune, because I don't expect much. On the plus side, we dunk a lot more!

Okay, my apologies if it wasn't you. Probably more directed to the person who started this thread.

I don't see how Gwright 'turned on the coach' at all... He was talking about the demeanor that the coach, team, and supporters of the program must have if we are going to make it to the next level. I think many, many of you are twisting his words into something totally different than his intention. I guess. Please, read GWright's two posts and explain to me where he graded or turned on Geno. If you cannot do so (as I suspect, since I've just re-read them several times), than let's stop accusing people people of such things. I understand you like GF, I think we all do. But we don't all have to say "we're going to wins tons of games, but don't expect it, and if we do win, it's a change of culture, and if we lose, Geno just needs time." I don't understand what you expect the discussion to be about when when we lose a game we clearly should have won. And, I agree with GWright that GF did not seem too distraught. Differing fro GWright, I, personally, am not expecting to win many games this year, but I don't see the need to have a problem with those who expect to win the games that we 'should' or that get upset when we do not do so.
