Great coaching job!

Bradley was extremely well prepared.

The 2-3 zone threw Drexel off all night.

Adjustments within the zone scheme worked perfectly.

Everyone who played played well.

Great job Coach Les and staff!!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that we were also down one of our best players. Makes this performance even better.

All of that was good, but I think the best thing I saw tonight was Les clapping and being positive between his heel stomps and tirades. I think the boys feed off that. EB really does a good job in that aspect but I think they need to see it from the head guy as well.

Dodie has been out for some time now- that shouldn't be a factor!lol

Absolutely....credit where credit is due.

The team was prepared, energetic, and resilient tonight.

Great job coaches and players.

I think when the players execute, Les has pretty good game plans most of the time and probably more than people think. Great job by both players and coaches tonight! Keep it up!

Oh and by the way, I made sure to watch during a timeout while the camera was on the huddle, and all the assistants were in the huddle watching what was going on, especially JC who was right in there.;)

I talked with several other long time Bradley people, guys like Bish, a few older fans, and others....
and NOT ONE can recall Bradley ever, ever playing a ZONE from start to finish in any game,
nor can I...... and I have watched, listened to, or read about virtually every Bradley game that's been played in more than 40 years.
So this full game zone shows that the coaching staff is working on improvements all the time...

I agree the players executed the zone pretty well.

Playing a zone wasn't really a big surprise. What else would we play when their best 3 pt shooter was probable, their coach says they struggle shooting and and we start 4 guards.....when you think about it what choice did we really have?

I can't recall Bradley playing a zone the whole game. Usually at some point, the other team starts making shots. It was odd to see so little movement on the court when the Drexel pg was bringing the ball up.

Solid win. It's nice having the game not come down to the wire at home.

I would assume Bradley will play plenty of zone against Wichita after seeing them struggle at Utah State against the zone. WSU was stuck on 13 and ended with 20 points at the half.

???They told us before the game that Brown wasn??™t playing,??? (Drexel Coach) Flint said. ???It was a tougher matchup for us with Warren at the 4. He made some big 3s. So Brown better watch out.???

Oh no! This is like pouring water on a grease fire!

I predict we'll see a five guard BU starting line up next year when Dodie returns;););)

Props to the entire BU team (ie players and coaches) for putting together a good home win in the BB vs Drexel.

Let's hope this one resonates with the players and they don't suffer from amnesia as they try to figure out a way to finish their season strong. :)

This is proof that Coach Les' tactic of not discussing player injuries and suspensions before a game really worked! Bruiser Flint didn't know until right before the game when TB didn't come out for warmups and remained in street clothes, that TB was not playing. He hadn't prepared for Bradley's 4-guard lineup, and it obviosly hurt his team. It appears he was outcoached!
Congratulations Coach Les.

Guess BU ought to be worried about Drexel trying to hire JL away from BU!

Since we played zone last night I am curious as to why A.T. did not get some playing time and why Milos did not play at all in the 2nd half because if we ever expect them to get better they need minutes on the floor and they may not be good defenders in a man to man defense but they certainly could play zone defense.

Saving them for next year!

OR

JL trying to pad stats of his starters ;););)

We through a press at them and they committed a TO. I would love us to have a bench to be able to press a ton more. I'm guessing the zone saved our guys legs for the end of the game. The only problem I have with our zone is that it will need to be more active and stretched out against WSU and our guys need to find a body to box out. It seems our guys just look for the ball and go after it instead of putting a body on a guy and then go after it.

I agree SFP. There were too many times where our zone got out of balance (no pun intended OoB;) ) and where we failed to box out properly. Fortunately, Drexel was just not that good of a team.

However, we also must keep in mind that it was our first time playing zone the majority of the time and that we have primarily been a man-to-man team. I'm sure we'll get even better with more practice if we choose to use it again in the MVC.

I think Les was trying to win. MK gave us nothing but minutes while he was in first half and AT.............. I think we know that story. :(

After reading thompsons tweets i can see why doesn't play his overall attitude is terrible. Ml didn't really do anything to really warrent secod half minutes. He missed two boards and got lost on d once not rotating out on a shooter. Btw first game in a real long time I saw any passion from our bench. I thought Eastman played very well he has a very good bball iq and dse though he got hung up in the air he is so strong and confident and is our only guard who can go to the rim hard and is capable of finishing.

We do need to remind ourselves that DSE is only a Freshman. 3 more years of this :D He's only going to get stronger, faster and shoot the ball better!
