Was talking to someone at work the other day and in talking about our recruits, realized that everyones excitement about the future freshman is vastly different. He didn't know what to think about some like Crawford and Hodges who didn't play the typical high school games last year.

Anyway, made me interested to see who everyone is most excited to see next gear. This is NOT who you think will become the best or who will play most, just who you're most excited to see.

This was a tough one for me because I like this class and there's different reasons why I'm excited about each.

Shayok Shayok.

We only have 1 recruit we very much about and many of us have seen play (Donivine Stewart), and 4 others we know little about (Nate Wells, Devon Hodges, Jamel Crawford, and Shayok Shayok).
Nate is slated to redshirt, but from things I have heard, the other 4 will give Bradley some meaningful minutes next year. I expect Devon Hodges and Shayok Shayok to have the greatest impact.

I don't know much about the other prospects outside of what I've read, but Donivine Stewart is one I expect to have a big impact. I knew from the time he was a freshman in High School he was a special player. He went toe-to-toe with Matt Roth when they played against Washington. If I remember correctly, he went off for 45 points that game. Washington won, behind Roth's 40, but ever since that game, I've been a huge fan of Stewart's. I think he also went off for 32 points against D.J. Richardson his Freshman year. I look forward to see what he'll be able to do in a Bradley Uniform.

Hodges

He's such an unknown and off the radar recruit. He was never highly regarded in high school, but the staff at Wisky thought enough of him to offer early.

I unique thing about the newcomers is that the spring guys seem like "better" recruits than the early signees.

I have heard an opinion from one of Devon Hodges former AAU coaches. Since he never played high school ball the last 2 seasons, his AAU coaches may be the most qualified to evaluate him. In brief, Devon has tremendous basketball skills, and a lot of upside. Bo Ryan makes few mistakes in his recruiting, and he thought enough of Devon to lock him into a commitment as a sophomore. The issues with Devon and why he remained under the radar with little D1 interest the last year since he de-committed from Wisconsin all relate to non-basketball issues. It remains to be seen how well he will be able to overcome those issues.

I don't think I agree with this... I think RA and DS > than the others to this point. Could the others turn out better? Sure - I hope they do. But I think saying that SS, DH, and JC are better recruits (all pretty much unrated, unheralded) than Remy and Donivine (highly rated and regarded), is a pretty tough pill to swallow.

:?

Did someone forget to tell him that Remy isn't coming anymore?

I think JC,SS,DH > DS,NW

SS = RA

Oh and there is no "All of the Above" choice on the poll.

I voted for Donivine. It's always interesting to me to see how local kids play at the next level. This kid dominated locally, consistently for the last 4 years. I can't wait to see him in a BU uniform and think that he will be pretty spectacular. It was hard to pick one, but I am gonna go with the local kid on this one.

In that case...

SS = RA = Andrew Davis

ESPN overrates size. I wouldn't put too much stock in their evals. They seems to rate as many players as they possibly can which leads to some obvious issues.

Excited about all of the freshman class , great to have 2 guards, 2 forwards and a center, really believe this is going to be a great class.

Interesting that DH/ShSh/DS are all the leaders with JC really close. Love that we're excited about everyone...

Wells is understandably not getting much "love" since he's likely to redshirt. At 7'1 he hopefully has a high ceiling.

Gonna put up a poll in a few days asking who you think (of the five) will get the most minutes freshman year. So start thinking ... :)
