FLASHBACK Just three years ago!

Exactly this time of year, in 2004, a certain top coach had just landed a recruiting class that was the
"Mother of All Recruiting Classes"
It was a great, great recruiting class that had the whole nation buzzing with envy.

He had just signed LOI's from FIVE of the Top 100 players in the NATION.

That Class was far and above better than anything landed this year by Bob Huggins,
Thad Matta, Kelvin Sampson, UNC or Duke, or anyone.

See if you can identify who was the fine head coach who landed such an all time
great recruiting class for the Class of 2004
,
and how many subsequent National Titles did this group win?

Mike Davis at Indiana landed FIVE players ranked in the Top 100 nationally in his recruiting class of 2004,
"Indiana and coach Mike Davis have five Top 100 prospects heading for the Hoosiers."

Those players are James Hardy, Bracey Wright, AJ Ratliff, Robert Vaden, DJ White, plus he got a transfer Marco Killingsworth who turned out to be his best player of all in his class of 2004.

And he won no national championships, and two years later he was gone and disgraced.

WHO WILL BE THE NEXT MIKE DAVIS?

Bracey Wright wasn't in the recruiting class of 2004. He has already had his best years at Indiana by that time.

Sorry, but I was just going with what the article said, and the point was that no matter how awesome the recruiting class is, that you don't win ball games on paper.
And Mike Davis looked like a magician in 2004 with all those players but look what has happened since.
