Both were young...Butler played excellent help defense, they hardly ever missed a rotation and communicated very well, They rebounde pretty wel and outhustled us the whole game for the most part.
The excuted offensively going through the post many times and taking the right shot most all the time.
They are a very disciplined team and respond well to their coach.
We don't even execute some simple things very well right now at either end.
I don't know if it's coaching,leadership, desire from the players, players abilities or what but we need to figure it out soon.
Not sure how much AW will help if the rest of the team isn't fundamentally sound.

If anyone thinks Andrew Warren would throw a cape on and direct us to the promised land, I think they are mistaken though IMO...

As you said, we have a whole lot of stuff wrong right now...

I just want to know how losing Will eliminates the "TEAM" concept we saw against Richmond...

Andrew and Will are not playing the rest of the year so everyone better start getting used to the players we have...that is all of the fans...

That also includes the coaches as well...

I certainly don't expect this team to win as many games as they would if Warren and Egolf were healthy...however, I do expect them to look like a disciplined, composed, well-coached team that plays hard every night and shows the ability to make adjustments and learn from their mistakes and breakdowns...I didn't see that tonight...They didn't play hard until it was far too late, they weren't disciplined, they did not play with composure, they did not make good decisions, they did not make adjustments throughout the game, and they simply did not appear to be a well-coached team out there tonight...

I guess I wasn't paying attention to previous posts...you said it very well.

Funny thing just watching warm-up and how their players look....it's hard to see them as an 8-0 team....but not after watching them play

Anyone that watched warmups...

Did you notice most of their players were very business like and working on their shooting while some of our players were sitting down talking to various ppl...

The only guys that were shooting the majority of the time were Phillips, Lavin, and a couple others I can't recall off the top of my head...


At the time I felt that was a bit strange...


Also from watching the warmups, I knew #20 could shoot the ball really REALLY well...apparently our coaches fell asleep on that assignment during scouting.


My last point...why don't we have a coach watching the other team prep and warmup for the game...you can learn a lot based on how shooters prepare and shoot in warmups in opposing arenas.

in a thread that talks about the coaches in Chicagoland (Jerry Wainwright, etc..)

"I also think this is the beginning of the end for Jim Les.
.... I think it may be a difficult year in Peoria.
I don't think there are a lot of Bradley fans happy with the coaching.

hmm....first....Bradley is hardly to be discussed in regard to Chicago area teams, we are further from Chicago than UIUC or ISU!
second...I think there's no more unhappiness here than in Carbondale if I read the posts correctly...

As in both places, we expect better from our teams and coaches...


Lowery's seat is much cooler because they have won Valley titles and we have not...


DePaul on the other hand...


I'm just not exactly sure what to say about that...I think thats a dead end job at this point w/ them moving to the Big East and not being able to contend w/ the other IL coaches and Marquette and so on for recruits.

Absolutely. Yeah, it's going to be harder to win games without AW and WE, but you still have to play the game the right way. You still have to be able to execute the fundamentals.

I agree here SaintLouBrave22. Even if Taylor doesn't throw the ball down there, he at least gives it a look. I even made the remark at the game last night that "Taylor Brown is the only guy on the team that ever makes a post feed." He got Sam Singh the ball on the block in the 2nd half which resulted in a block to block feed to Chris Roberts for a lay-up.

You have to throw the ball to the post just to keep the defense honest, and when your shooting in the mid 20%'s, why not try it. I'd actually like to see some cross screening down there and get Theron the ball on the block, I still say he's a lost man and under utilized in our offensive set.

I agree 100%. I also saw DC wide open a few times during the 1st 10 minutes and they refused to pass him the ball, and I mean WIDE open. If I was on a team and trying to work it, again YMCA talk, and I was open countless of times and someone gunned it, I'd stop hustling also. I know he should give it his all regardless but I guess he does not have the temperment to lay down the law. I'm sure MS would have grabbed those guards by the throat at 1/2 time and made sure the ball would come his way a few times.

I agree and sometimes you unfortunately can not teach the type of intensity Matt Salley had or the type of killer instinct a guy like JC had.
