Eye Test

I??™m not talking about the normal sports talking head ???eye test???. I want to talk about men among boys, and what that looks like.

Elijah Child??™s is one of the first BU players we have had in the past 6-8 years that looks like a man and not a boy. I??™m not trying to put down our fantastic student athletes, but it seems over the years I??™ve noticed that very good athletes tend to look much older and more like mature men than boys. Like Lebron. He looked like he was 25 when he was 18. According to my eye test the last ???men among boys??? BU has had were Taylor Brown, Theron Wilson, Matt Salley, PoB, Somerville, Ruffin, & the Zack attack. Maybe a few others.

It may seem not PC, but I think I??™ve noticed a correlation between matured looking players and success, especially in the 3, 4, & 5 spots. I don??™t think we have had these types of players in a long time, but I think Childs is one of them.

Despite the ups and downs of this season so far I am excited for the future of BU basketball.

I could talk about EC all day . He??™s going to be a great defender and rebounder. He??™s already really good. He can score inside and out. He??™s big, athletic. In my book he passes any test.

We need Bar to come along . There is no reason for his inconsistency other than he??™s only a Soph.

Drooling over the idea of having EC and KB and AB on the roster . DB at the point. NK at the 2 . That??™s a heck of a 5 if you ask me.

I would love to see him stay at Bradley for all 4 years and become part of the revival of the Braves program.

Eye Test

Stryker.... I agree with you. With the exception of Childs and D. T. and possibly D. Brown and D Lo, we are a team of "boys" who get pushed around, out worked in games, and out toughed by more athletic opponents. These guys may be tougher to handle by our coaches but a couple of them can provide what we need on the floor and especially on the road. IMO, BW needs to rethink his recruiting philosophy/strategy.
