Deen and Bradley

From the previous posts I have seen, am curious if Duke Deen may be a possible addition to the coaching staff in some capacity. He has no experience in such a capacity if Wardle is considering this. Guess you have to start somewhere at some point if this happens. Anyone know what the current situation is or is this just wishful thinking on this platform.:unsure:

He helped at the Wardle camps, but there has been no news about him joining the staff. I think a guy with his personality could be an asset showing recruits around campus.

Duke will always have a home here. He is pursuing professional opportunities. The staff is also full with the addition of Austin Cox as DOBO.

I thought they just hired Kamrein Street as DOBO just a little over a month ago - https://bradleybraves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/kamrein-street/3535

The position Darrell Brown, Jr held was "Director of Player Development", and I think Bradley has now filled that spot
with a really knowlegable guy from UTEP, son of one of their Associate Head Coaches.
It has not been made public yet but soon will be when details are all worked out.
(as always, breaking news is always here first)

So Bradley has a new DOBO?
I think this is him, though still awaiting an announcment-

Pat Althoff is off to Lincoln Memorial as an assistant coach.
Kam Street slides into his role.
Austin Cox arrives as DOBO.
This has been in the works for a while. It was the "another possible change on the staff that could happen soon" that I posted about three weeks ago.- LINK

Bradley apparently still has one opening on their coaching staff. The Director of Player Development position, which Darrell Brown, Jr. served in for the last 2 seasons, remains open. I am hearing a name that might be getting consideration as a replacement for DB.
Also, hearing of another possible change on the staff that could happen soon.

There isn’t an opening.
Wardle->Wardle
Mike Black->Mike Black
Bargen,Foster, and db replaced by Al Hanson, Bobby Suarez, and Brian Jones. DBs former position was upgraded to a full assistant position.
Pat Althoff ->Kam Street
Gavin Block->Austin Cox

So it appears that Bradley now has 4 assistant coaches, rather than 3 that existed last season.
But the position that was titled Director of Player Development does not appear to be filled. Does that position still exist?

so there's still a spot open on the staff? Paging Duke??

yes- as I said, the position that was previously titled:
"Director of Player Development" and which was held in 2024-25 by Darrell Brown, Jr.,, is not currently held by anyone.
So has the position been eliminated or will there still be someone hired? Been hard keeping up with all these staff changes.

Plus, Althoff was "Special Assistant to the Coach", but Street did not replace him, and now Street is DBO.

Choose one out of Al, Bobby, and Brian Jones and they filled the DB spot, upgraded to an assistant coach title. There won't be an additional paid staff position added.

Just odd how DB Jr parted ways and nothing (or very little) was said for an all-time Bradley great. At least from a fan's perspective, his job at managing the developing of players was superb. I still hold DB Jr. as one of my top 5 favorite Braves all time (and 2nd, to Ja'Shon, in the Wardle era), being a fan from 1993 til now.

There were legitimate reasons, but they have been kept confidential and should remain that way.

Losing Pat Althoff is a big loss for Bradley. He was an extremely smart basketball guy. But what perhaps hurts the most is that he was doing the bulk of the interacting with recruits. Now more of the recruiting work will fall on the other guys. But they appear to be capable of getting the job done.

I guess we’ll find out how much of our good recruiting is due to BW now. Let’s hope he is/was the main factor getting us the talent we’ve had since he came to town.
