DAVE SNELL - Broadcasting BRADLEY GAMES for the NEXT 20 YEARS

We Bradley Fans have been spoiled by Dave Snell and his excellent game broadcasts since 1979. Out here in Colorado I have my TV on with no sound and tune into Dave Snell and Chad Kleine on WMBD radio. What's fun is sometimes the radio broadcast is ahead of the tv broadcast by a few seconds so I know what's coming ahead of time and during yesterday's game WMBD was a couple of seconds behind the TV broadcast - but it is always great to hear Dave call the games and get so into the games and so excited along with Chad. They make a great Bradley game broadcast tandem. So my point is - Dave graduated a year behind me - but he needs to continue covering the Bradley games for the next 20 years. By then I likely will have moved on. It just won't be the same without Dave. I can just imagine Dave (and maybe Chad) rolling his eyes reading this. LOL And if there is radio coverage in Heaven - Dave can continue there. LOL :)

I just started listening to the radio broadcast this year while watching the games and wish I had done it sooner. I love Dave's play by play. Since I was at the game on Sunday, which of course was an awesome experience, I wasn't able to listen to the radio broadcast. I've already rewatched the game on ESPN+, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to replay the radio broadcast. I really want to hear Dave's reactions to the final two dunks!

Dave Snell is an absolute Bradley treasure! I graduated BU the same year Dave did and have been following the Braves both during my Bradley tenure and ever since. Hearing his voice brings back so many memories of Bradley games and players past. I agree with you Go_ Braves, Dave needs to keep doing what he does at least until guys like you and I have moved on.

I love Dave as well and Chad does a good job too imo. I always love getting to my car after a game to catch the post game radio show, its awesome.

Thank you PattonMD - and Tommy .

I believe JaShon's dunk is at the 1:54:19 "mark" in the audio Tommy provides. Just place the marker just before this time stamp and enjoy Dave Snell's surprise yell regarding JaShon's dunk and Hickman's dunk is shortly after. Snell was at his best. :)

A-men NothScottsdaleBrave. :)

I grew up listening to Mort Cantor calling the Braves. If I recall, there was overlap for a few years where Mort was calling on WIRL and Dave on WMBD. I stayed with Mort until WMBD got exclusive rights. Sure hope Dave stays around for many years to come.

I've tried synchronizing the WMBD radio stream with the ESPN+ video stream. If the ESPN video stream is ahead of the radio stream, it's possible to pause the video stream briefly, and get a close synchronization.
But if the radio stream is ahead, which is more often the case, the WMBD website does not allow you to simply pause the audio steam briefly. If you try, you get a 15 or 30 second ad on restarting, that throws off any attempt to synchronize.
Plus, even if I can get them close to each other, on my computer, they don't usually stream perfectly synchronous. So, they end up out of sync after a short time. :(

BTW, in case anyone is not aware, all the ESPN games, including the MVC-TV Network games, are archived by ESPN, and can be re-watched any time later by going to this web page and clicking on the date of the game across the top-
https://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/_/type/replay

I listen to WMBD on the Tune In app. For mobile, there is a user-friendly pause button. For most games down the stretch I was able to time it up pretty much exactly.

I have done this many many times myself. Most of the time for me the radio is ahead which allows pausing to work for synching. I have had the rare occasion that the radio is behind the video though.

I graduated in 1972. I was at most of the games in the student section. When I couldn't be at the game, I listened to WIRL too. I remember Mort Cantor's voice along with I think it was Lorn Brown? It was Brown who made a point of pronouncing Louisville a certain way. It was something like "Louavul". Great memories. I loved listening as a student. I did my homework first, then tuned into the game with a radio on the same shelf as my books. It was great. We had nothing. We only wanted to learn, graduate and follow Bradley BB as well.

Dave Snell is great and so easy to talk to in person, off the radio!

Actually "Louavul" is how people from Louisville pronounce it

I have always been a supporter of Coach Wardle. I am glad we are where we are. I sense that the momentum is growing. Like all of us, it couldn't come too soon. I remember when Coach Wardle addressed a huge luncheon at Carver back in June of 2015. He asked us to be patient. We have been. I feel that the reasons that it didn't come faster, is that you must instill winning consistently. This has been difficult because of the hole I sense we were in under Coach Ford and the Administration that just wasn't good for Bradley Basketball in several ways. Coach Wardle was hired after the peak of recruiting season. He has had to build the program from a negative place. Bradley had slipped to a level we perhaps were not proud enough of under Coach Ford. Under Coach Wardle we have a great future. He can recruit based upon really good results of late. Kudos for Dr Reynolds and all the staff who stuck it out. I love that the assistant Coaches are so close to Coach Wardle. We just need to keep building the winning ways for student athletes.
