Using the death of a pitcher in this discussion is also quite weak.

Agreed! Cubs injuries have hurt them for the past couple years.

He's now 5-1 with a 1.76 on the year. Without a doubt, Hendry and the Cubs are regretting that 'ridiculous' contract.
 
Well it's paying off now...but watch out for the Cards, I don't think we should completely rule them out for the season. However, the Cubs are looking to stay near the top of the division for a while. How about them Brewers?? I can't believe how many wins they have been getting.

well the brew crew has been feasting on a soft schedule so far, which u need to do, but i still don't think they will keep it up. if Z can get on track, the cubs will be dangerous, with the way hill, lilly, and marquis are pitching. i think and hope the division is for the nsider's taking...

all the cards fans are absent on this thread lately regarding marquis :lol:

Cubs fans can't boast too much about their team's decisions regarding pitching. Remember they traded Jon Garland to the White Sox for Matt Karchner (who?), and I also think the Neil Cotts for David Aardsma trade could turn out as lopsided.

Cotts has done well so far, not sure of Aardsma's stats, but i never thought he'd be anything b/c he couldn't place pitches, but time will tell. one thing for sure, he has the number one name in the alphabetized roster of all MLB players and alumni, beating out hammerin Hank.

for as bad as some cubs deals have been, not in their favor, the Lee trade for Choi and deal for Ramirez for Bobby Hill look awfully good, kudos to Hendry on those.
