Cross quit

Dave Reynolds just announced it via twitter
...of course we knew this was coming and it was stated so on this board last week but a few people went freaking ballistic and demanded the talk stop....
so for all those nitpickers who want to go after anyone who has something to say- please go after Dave Reynolds this time cuz the reports on BradleyFans from day 1 have been incredibly accurate and obviously painfully earlier than some wanted the truth to be known.

dominos falling...

Cross got out while the gettin' was good.

Sad it came to this though, but, time to start over again.

Hopefully, third times a charm!

if the current salary we are paying is $290,000, we ought to be able to draw some pretty good interest for this position and get top talent..

Who Do I Send My Resume To?

Who Do I Send My Resume To?

I'll take the job for $225,000....

Not a "penny" less though!

I'll hire lots of the talent here on BF.com to fill out the BU MBB
Staff!

This is a negotiated buyout, same as with Joanne Glasser, just as was reported here a week ago.

And despite the unfounded criticism we took, our reporting was 100% accurate.
For those who attacked us, please feel free to post your apologies.

In addition to being right, we beat everyone else to the story by a week.

And furthermore, we also now know where the coaching search is headed......8)

BTW, here is the PJ Star story, better late than never.

So did Joanne Glasser, but obviously the Board is intent on a change, as we reported, and is giving them a chance to make it a resignation instead of a firing.
But everyone knows what it is. Some people just have a hard time admitting we were right.

I think waiting until it is announced is more about being respectful than anything.

It's not so much about who's right as it is what's right

I couldn't agree more. It would have been much more professional had the announcement been made, pursuant to the wishes of the university and/or the athletic director, instead of being leaked by someone else.

Hopefully the search for a new athletic director is conducted by quality athletic experienced people. In my opinion, the new athletic director should be someone with coaching experience as well as experience as an athletic director. That person should also be respected throughout the state of Illinois by other high school coaches and athletic directors.

This is a huge day for Bradley basketball. Relative to where we are currently at, any change is a positive... A chance to do far better as a program. Build it well.

I think I can answer that .For one thing the name of this site is entirely bogus. How in the hell can we expect to get any kind of recruits in here when other recruiters show them how the kids, coaching staff and media are treated by this web site.

I believe you are really onto something important. Social media is relatively new and is an incredible weapon in the war, for the recruiting of potential athletic directors, coaches and student athletes. People can find out on message boards, twitter, and facebook, how a university and it's supporters handle different situations. Every negative comment about a current player, will be used against us. Leaks that come out of the university and posted on the same social media listed above, can also cause a prospective candidate to say, "Nobody can keep their mouth shut about personel matters. I'm not getting involved in that mess".

Social media can be a lot of fun and informative. We as Bradley fans need to be careful, that things we post won't be used against us or the university or viewed negatively by those we may want to invite to be a part of the university.

Almost every team in the NCAA has a website similar to this one. In almost every one of them there are threads dedicated to things including "fire the coach" and "so and so player isn't living up to the hype" and "i wish that player would transfer."

For programs like Bradley that are experiencing many consecutive years of horrific disappointment, those thoughts are more prevalent. If directing a potential recruit to those types of websites is a common tactic, it is short-sighted and ignorant of what the internet is, a place where people use anonymity to blast any and everything. I don't have the evidence, but I would bet there are people on a Kentucky fan site throwing shade on Alex Poythress and people on a Duke website that are/were trashing Rasheed Sulamon.

It is all of the things you mentioned. That is one of the things that make recruiting a nasty, cut throat, stab you in the back business.

I never thought it was wrong back then - only a little disrespectful...
so maybe you are right - which, for the record, is why last week I clearly stated I'd rather wait for the info to be officially announced..

but the first prediction of a major housecleaning being made in order to save our athletic programs from becoming DII and a national laughingstock...
was indeed made here more than a couple years ago...
and pretty much a MAJORITY of good, regular attending Bradley fans all saw it at least 2-3 years ago which is why half don't even go to games any more

When Kirk Wessler wrote his "Time to turn the page" column in January - he pretty much borrowed every word including the title from a thread here well over a year earlier....which of course was wizard's sudden realization that we've saying for over two years before that was 100% right and prophetic.
