Connor Hickman at Cincinnati

We'll be fine without Hick. I can't wait to see who steps up to fill his shoes - might be a collective effort, though I have a lot of hope for Zek.

Bingo! LB with the positive outlook, as always! That's why we love him!

Me, too. I hated to see Connor leave, but it opens up a lot more quality playing time for Zek, as well as more time for Dillon and Burch to contribute. Zek has the skill, athleticism, and shooting ability to be a star in the MVC.

I wish him luck because he was part of our regular season championship . We as a team just need to move forward and compete with the players that want to be here now.

Yeah, I understand most fans feel that way. But Connor was such a good kid, and a major part of the successes of the Braves the last 3 seasons. I can't blame him for pursuing his goals, and I wish him success.

Connor Hickman was celebrated by the University of Cincinnati at their game yesterday for reaching 1,000 career points.
He now has 1,009 career D1 points, though 953 of them came in his three seasons at Bradley.-

As can be seen in the photo, Connor is reported to be having some foot pain and is wearing a boot. He did not play in yesterday's game, an 84-49 win over Grambling. And he was limited to 12 minutes in their previous game, a 66-59 win over # 22 Dayton this past Friday.
The foot injury is reported to be minor - https://x.com/Knickoson42/status/1870977573515092178

He should have stayed at Bradley

IDK what Connor got out of this past season at Cincy, but on the surface, his decision to leave and play his final year there is looking more and more like a poor decision. They are looking NIT bound......I would think that outcome wasn't worth leaving your Bradley history and relationships

Hearing that Hickman is appealing to "red-shirt" this past year, so it is possible that he will be available to play another year...

Yes, his coach said he is seeking another year of eligibility so he is not dressing & won’t play in the post-season.
NCAA would have to go outside of their longstanding rules to grant a waiver for another year, since he’s played considerably more than the 30% of games that are the limit for medical redshirt- but NCAA has stretched those boundaries before in rare cases.
Cincy people are hoping- even expecting an NIT bid, but they are 7-12 in their conference, in a 3-way tie for 12th-14th, and 1-11 in Quad-1, with a non-conference strength of schedule of 216. But don’t be surprised if they get in anyway because of the strength of the others in the Big 12.

This is probably outside thinking, but would he consider returning to Bradley, and would the players/Coach Wardle take him back?

We seem to be stacked at guard. Would we even have a spot for him? I'd rather get Duke back for another year!

I was thinking about that too Tommy, but we have Wheeler coming in and I'd love for him to come in and make an impact like JaQuan did this season. Would be great to have our 3 freshmen rise together. I have a feeling we will only have DR for 1 or 2 seasons before lured away by bigger schools. Hope I'm wrong!

Having Duke for another season would be awesome as he's been the engine for the last 2-3 seasons that we owe a lot of our success to. Thinking maybe it's time tho to hand over the torch to 2 promising PGs, and his senior compadres will no longer be wearing the Bradley jersey next season. Don't get me wrong - I would NOT be opposed to him returning!!!
