Cleveland State stuns Syracuse

In case y'all somehow missed it. CSU makes a waist level 3/4th's length court shot with 2 seconds left after Syracuse made a layup to tie it. Totally insane shot. Looks like CSU has some decent shooters. 3 players in double figures tonight. Record sitting at 7-4 right now, with a close 2 point loss at Butler and this stunning 3 point win at ranked Syracuse. They could give Butler a serious run for the Horizon league title.

Throw in UIC and the Horizon is looking like a solid league again this year.

This year's Horizon League is similar to the 2006 Valley. Lot's of wins over BCS teams by the top teams. Look for two in the Big Dance for sure if not three out of the Horizon this year.

Lets focus on the exciting part...

Did anyone see the replay of the beautiful 60+ foot shot to win the game? Holy Smokes.

Bet they appreciate having that transfer student...!

There are 4 teams in the Horizon who frankly aren't good. All 10 MVC teams in the Valley logged quality non-con wins that year, so one couldn't use the weak league argument. That's not to take anything away from the HL, as Butler, UIC, and Cleveland State appear to have very good teams.

But though the teams will have solid individual profiles, the at-large chances for Butler and UIC specifically may literally come down to whether or not BU is a "key" loss or a "bad" loss.
