Christian Davis signs professional contract

Times have definitely changed where players finish all 4 years on teams where they have signed their letters of intent. Really disappointing. The NCAA has wrecked college basketball with the portal and as I’ve said before that the midmajors have become the farm club for the power 5 conferences. If you are a midmajor like Indiana State last year and win 30 games you don’t make the NCAA Tournament unless you win your conference championship unless you’re North Carolina and get in with 13 losses! So ridiculous!

The NCAA did not wreck this the court system is responsible for this mess.

Sorry, Congress will not enter this mess. The lobbyists in DC direct the representatives in Congress. Note how professional sports, like baseball are not subject to anti-trust regulations and most stadiums are built and funded by taxpayers

I agree with that, which makes this even more unusual considering how wealthy the NCAA is.

Well, as a followup to Christian Davis going in the transfer portal - seeking an additional year of eligibility for his seasons played at Division II.

His actions were because a Wisconsin athlete did get an injunction to play an extra year of FB at UW due to a year spent at DII -
(similar to the juco ruling) - but NOW...

Now an appeals court has overturned that ruling and denied that player an additional year. So I would guess that means Christian Davis is also, likewise, nearing the end of his options and will not likely get an additional year. - LINK

The Wisconsin FB player who had originally filed the lawsuit and gotten the injunction, Nyzier Fourqurean, still could pursue further appeals, but.. since the NCAA football season is starting now, it is pretty unlikely he will get the judgement he wants before it's too late.

I wonder if Darnell Brodie has heard on his waiver for an 11th year of eligibility?

The article cites Christian as a "24-year-old, 6'1" and 200-pound guard". I thought he was a bit taller.

additionally -
Both Donte Thomas and Ville Tahvanainen played pro ball in Finland, altho neither do currently

Christian's new team for 2025-26, Karhubasket just finished an excellent season. They were 2nd in the league's regular season standings and
made it all the way to the post-season Championship Finals but lost to the Helsinki Seagulls
