CBI called off amid ongoing coronavirus concerns
Article link provided below...Given that COVID-19 primarily affects older individuals with declining immune systems. Perhaps a good compromise would be restricting the tournament to those under 40.
We only have a 0.1% chance of death anyways. Similar to the flu. So logically that would be acceptable risk since its not like we shut anything down for the seasonal flu.
Algo - let's go 80 and under.
40 and above is where the rate begins to climb. Coinciding with the declining immune system function.
Btw, I'm half kidding, but also half serious. ;-)
The coronavirus scare has already affected several conference tournaments. The Ivy League cancelled their postseason tournament altogether.
The MAC conference is banning spectators for both the men's and women's tournaments-

The Big West Tournament just announced Tuesday afternoon that it will proceed with their men's and women's tournaments, but without spectators.

The Big West women's tournament began last night (Tuesday), just a couple hours after that announcement was made, and the men's tournament starts Thursday. No doubt there are a lot of fans who were already travelling to the tournaments, or who have bought airline tickets, hotels, and other expenditures that are worthless now with the decision made so late to ban spectators.
Several other conferences are meeting to decide what kinds of restrictions they will impose, and the NCAA is contemplating the possibility of restrictions at the tournament Regionals. In Ohio, where The First Four (Dayton) and the Midwest Regional (Cleveland) NCAA Tournament games will be played, the Ohio governor has already issued a strong recommendation urging that games be played in empty arenas.

And now the Ohio Governor is telling reporters he will issue an order to ban spectators at those NCAA First Four and Regional games-

Las Vegas is hosting 8 conference tournaments, but so far, they are all proceeding without changes-

Let's be honest, nobody will miss the CBI except Geno.
