Can anyone stop him?

Sammy has been awesome this season at driving to the hoop with 1 defender to beat & scoring. It reminds me somewhat of Dee Brown (U of I) and his knack for scoring on the break (One-Man Fast Break)
o.k. o.k. - Sammy's a step or 2 slower, but still effective!
Whatever he lacks in quickness and "hops", he makes up for in determination and b-ball savvy.

I love your optimism and thinking LittleBrave but I've got one question for you. Can I have my rose-colored glasses back? ;)

For all you who oppose, at least you have to admit this is an added dimension to Sammy's game that he's turned up a notch this season. He just finds a way to score on his way to the hoop. It's the best flip shot in the Valley.
I remember him doing this shot in his freshman season (a few times) and looking pretty natural - thought it was kinda' lucky until seeing him do it with regularity this season.

I remember seeing someone else on the team do this a few games ago maybe AW or TB and thinking SM must have been teaching it in practice. It is a very effective shot as the ball isn't exposed to the defender until the last second, its almost like a hook layup.

Sammy is shooting over 50% on his layups now too, nice improvement there.

SM has certainly mastered the "scoop" shot. Too bad he didn't have it quite mastered before our trip to Redbird Arena last season :(.

Thanks for reminding me of that game! I remember sitting down in disgust after that uncontested miss, while redbird fans were amazed that he missed it. It takes a lot to rattle Sammy though!

I can't agree with you more friend:D One thing for sure, he is the one player you can count on to show up and give everthing he's got for the team:!::D

I've said this before, watching him play is like watching a football halfback, he sees the seam and is quick to take it the the basket. He's fun to watch :) Go Braves!
