Burch hits the portal- transfers to ISU

much of the public reports were wrong -- or were for some reason, false information...
and that's ok - nobody needs to know all the details, but I think it was pretty obvious back in late January
then February when his minutes dropped to single digits - that this was ultimately what would happen.
So now we have four open scholarships (4 guys graduate + 3 in the portal = 7, but we have three incoming commitments)

Even with the (false) report that everyone of value is staying, I still never bout that Demarion was. Like you said, the writing was on the wall all 2026 pretty much. Fun player, I wish him success, but something tells me the rumor floating around since Arch Madness may have been true

Nice farewell message from O-Show. Guess it's time to finally change my Avatar, but Burch impressed me and my son more than any other Brave last summer - gave his time for us and genuinely cared for fans.

He really felt the warmth of the BU fans in talking to him last year and was appreciative. A very kind and mature young man from what I saw. I am sad to see him go and feel bad for all the adversity he endured.
Hoping he has his best season ahead and a bright future in whatever he does.

No idea what the rumor was. I was hopeful for Burch to be a good player at BU, but he never really got there. Probably best to part ways for both parties in this case.

I guess we gotta “embrace the suck” and hope they adjust this broken system before cbb is no longer fun.

The initial reports of players returning is now being called a "false report". But, that initial report, which I believe was based on meetings the coach had with players immediately after they were eliminated from the NIT, never included Burch as saying he planned to return. So today's news is not a reversal.

And, remember that players can and do change their minds, which they are entitled to do. I think most fans support their decisions, and appreciate the dedication and effort they game Bradley.
Good luck to Demarion. Here is his farewerll message to fans-

Burch finishes his Bradley career with 547 career points -
tied for 125th place all time among Bradley players along with Roosevelt Davison.

JR Blount, a former Loyola player and Iowa State assistant coach, was just named head coach at San Diego... Blount is a native of Milwaukee.

I remember him well. He was a pretty good guard for 4 years at Loyola when they were in the Horizon League. His career average was 13.5 ppg, but he always put up much bigger numbers when he played against Bradley.
Here were his overall stats at Loyola- https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jr-blount-1.html

Bradley played Loyola 4 times in his 4 years there (2005-2009).
The Braves won 3 of the 4, but Blount always had very good games.
