Bradley is recruiting Thomas Hamilton, Jr. He is a 6'9", 240 pound post player presently at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida (the same school former BU player Andrew Davis attended). He will be coached there by former Chicago Julian head coach Loren Jackson. His father played for University of Illinois, and Thomas, Jr. has been a hot recruit since he was a 6'8" middle school player dominating at that age. At one time he was a Top 25 player nationally, and he was reported to have had offers from a number of high majors, including Illinois and DePaul, but it's not clear whether any of those early offers still stand. He attended Whitney Young HS, but his career there never worked out because of a series of injuries that kept him from playing his sophomore and junior seasons, and weight issues. He has gotten into much better shape now, and will be playing this season IMG Academy. He played AAU ball with the Mac irvin Fire.

Boy would this be a great get for BU and the Valley. I officiated a few of his dads games and he looks better then Daddy. This would be a huge get and no pun intended. Kid can even shoot the 3 like his Dad. Go get em Chin and Geno.

Tommy Hamilton remains high on Bradley's recruiting list, and is scheduled for a campus visit in a couple weeks.

We need a shooter and a big desperately in this recruiting class. That is if Anthony Fields is our starting PG. Otherwise we need one of them as well. Name one good team without an above average PG. You can name a few without a true center.

Don't worry about Anthony Fields SFP... Trust me. If he stays healthy he is, without a doubt, an All-MVC caliber PG. He is a real talent... Maybe one of the best we've got to come to BU in a long time... You'll see. :D

I agree about Fields but I've heard Docks is better and we'd still need another PG.Walt is not a PG and is running out of time. Fields will be the PG and Walt will be the two .

Bradley still recruiting Hamilton, but he was at the DePaul-Seton Hall game last night (1/2/13) and will be visiting the DePaul campus and facilities on an unofficial visit today.

good thing they lost.....

remember when Hamilton Jr. was like a top 10 recruit as a freshman?

I haven't heard much about Thomas Hamilton - maybe someone from Florida can fill us in...

I have found many reports on the IMG prep basketball team - and they are struggling mightily this season - despite having some talent..

According to several sites they have a losing record and MaxPreps has reported most of their scores - and has them at 2-21
http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/img-academy-(bradenton,fl)/basketball/home.htm
http://www.maxpreps.com/contests/7r...lden-gate-naples-vs-img-academy-bradenton.htm
http://www.maxpreps.com/contests/uh...my-bradenton-vs-winter-haven-winter-haven.htm

I've found that in the past maxpreps has not been a reliable source for HS football scores. I'm not sure how they do with basketball scores, but for football they often had the teams switched so that the winning team got the loss and vice versa. My high school football team was 9-0 this year and max preps said they were 2-7...

but they have individual box scores for numerous games and IMG loses all of them...so I think we can conclude they have a losing record -

Anyway a couple years ago - their coach one time was quoted (when Shayok had verballed) that they have a lot of kids on the roster,
and that they schedule tough opponents and try to play everyone equally like an in-house recreational team does -
so they do lose a lot of games for that reason.

BUT - that may not be true - as here is one of their box scores...it is the game where IMG played against State College of Florida - Devon Hodges current juco team...
and we see that Thomas Hamilton started and played almost 30 minutes - and that all the starters played heavy minutes while none of the subs played much at all.........
So at least in this game - Hamilton played a lot and hit only 1 of 5 shots & scored just 2 pts & grabbed 5 rebs against a pretty mediocre juco team.

In addition - IMG got clobbered by 32 points!! and the guys that Hamilton might have been expected to guard - the two starting post players on SCoF-M went 8-10 and grabbed 15 rebs!

IMG got clobbered by 32 points!! ...and Devon played JUST 6 minutes and score 8 pts despite fouling a ton

Here's another full box score in which Hamilton played over 33 minutes and scored 12 but he required 12 shots - btw - this Boubacar guy at IMG does seem to score well! - LINK

But your concerns about MaxPreps is justified - because here they rank Thomas Hamilton as the #17 best player/recruit in the NATION

I am still intersted in Hamilton as a prospect. I still only want him if we get another inside player besides him. I think he could easily be a flop or a star. I like the skills he has (Shooting/passing/ball handling/size) But he is a big question mark. I don't want to depend on only him as an inside player.

If we can get a couple players that our coaches feel are better I am fine with that. I still like the possibilty of Hamilton as a 4th or 5th player in the class though.

I disagree slightly. IMO, if we sign a big man like Hamilton or some other kid, he needs to someone who can contribute right away. We do not need any more question marks or projects.

One of Thomas Hamilton's teammates is blowing up - 6-10 forward/center Daniel Robinson
just got an offer from Kent State.........

Here's another 7-1 ft big man blowing up - and he currently has ZERO offers!!!
Anthony Allen just posted a TRIPLE DOUBLE -
10 points, 16 rebounds and 11 blocked shots ..
something that's pretty rare in juco ball...

Allen will be a qualifier in 2013 but still has another season of eligibility at Lamar State College in Texas...
Lamar State also has several other good players - a couple from Illinois & a Croatian...
