BU recruit- class of 2012- Mislav Brzoja

the guarantee of immediate playing time @ BU and the fact that a couple players are gone here JUST to clear space just for the kid - will at least make signing with Bradley one of his better options.
At URI - he'd be starting from scratch with a new coach that had not been recruiting him and at Providence - their TOP eleven players are returning and most are freshmen and sophs - so little assurance of playing time soon!

it'll be debatable how much all this will affect Brzoja or BU...
but one of Brzoja's strong offers is Providence and 3 kids are leaving and transferring from Providence (Dixon, Giplaye, and Coleman)...

but then, this morning they just landed a verbal from a combo guard Ian Baker...
and already have two good, 5-STAR wing scorers (Ledo, Dunn) and one other who ranks 3-Stars (Fortune)...

just this weekend a couple new schools are apparently getting involved - the fact that he'd even talk to or consider someone completely new at this late stage indicates he and his advisors are willing to listen to any and every offer with the goal of picking the highest or best....
This is not good news for BU - but I still have faith in Geno filling the gaping needs we have.

On the scout.com premium recruiting board there's a little blurb about Mislav Brzoja - the top recruiting writer Brian Snow says a few things about Brzoja and also notes..
that he's going to be doing an interview shortly and that he's just in the early stages of taking visits and hasn't even begun to figure out what his options are...

There is now a discussion on one of the University of Kentucky boards that Kentucky/Calipari has contacted Brzoja and is looking at him as a last-resort, desperation option for one of the many newly found open scholarships they have...
The closer it gets to the LOI signing period the more coaches with open rides will pursue all remaining options...

It's kind of funny that Brzoja didn't stand out when scrimmaging with our players who finished 2-17 in conference, yet #1 Kentucky & Calipari is considering him.
I know there's more to it than this, but just going by discussions and reports, that's the spin it creates.

no news on signing anywhere for any of the Croatians - including Alex Olah who had been saying since last fall that he'd sign with Northwestern in the spring - but thus far - he has not...

Rhode Island is competing for Brzoja as well as Tymell Murphy - BUT - they just signed another big guy - 6-8 forward Mike Aaman - the third wing or forward signed in the past week...

Northwestern & Bill Carmody making big time late push to land Brzoja - Chicago Trib has a story

Oddly Northwestern still has not gotten the signed LOI from Brzoja's teammate, 7-footer Alex Olah - as they have not only expected but been promised ever since last fall!!
...so could they be waiting to see if both can play together??

This Eurohoops writer says BU is still hangin in there with Brzoja..

Too bad - wished we'd have signed him and locked him in...

guess what - now Brzoja is blowing up...

He was rated the #1 prospect at the AAU-type event this weekend -Nike Spring Showdown

"..very impressive throughout the entire event. He is built like a frontline player,
but he sees the floor and handles the ball like a point guard, and he shoots it well with range....
..He certainly had some top-tier coaches watching him throughout, including
John Calipari of Kentucky and Buzz Williams of Marquette..
– there were 20-30 DI schools specifically watching Brzoja"

he's even rated ahead of Cliff Alexander that a whole lot of Big Ten teams are going into a frenzy over..
