BU recruit- 2015- Brady Ernst

I doubt it if we are done. However, it seems that we keep hearing names in the 6'5" wing forwards. Granted we probably could use another one, besides Suggs, unless some of our guards can fill in there.

That makes some sense from both sides...

New Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm finds himself this late in the process with multiple open scholarships for 2015, and they missed out on Bielfeldt - so Prohm probably felt some pressure to land someone - especially someone with size since they don't have hardly anyone in their frontcourt with experience except Niang.

From Brady's standpoint it's as good as he was likely to ever get and he wants the chance to try to show everyone he can play at that level.

I think in a couple years he's gonna get recruited over and find it hard to get PT

I guess that time is already come-
Brady Ernst is leaving Iowa State and transferring...
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/st...s-first-iowa-state-recruit-transfer/84145272/

he saw it coming when Iowa State started signing all the available transfers...although a lot of other people saw it coming before he even signed with Iowa State.

To be fair, Ernst tore his ACL at the end of his senior season of high school (in Feb., 2015), and then tried to come back and play the following season at the high D1 level at Iowa State. He was not ready, and should not have been allowed to try to compete less than 9 months after such a severe ACL injury and surgery. He should have been redshirted from the start of last season by the Iowa State staff. He played briefly in 6 early season games last November, developed swelling and pain in his surgically repaired knee, then was shut down for the rest of the year. He would have been able to get a medical redshirt, but now if he transfers, he'll lose that year.

Brady Ernst needs to get better advice than whoever advised him to make such poor decisions.
Now unless he heads to juco or DII, he has wasted a couple years of his college career.

Brady Ernst is headed to Indian Hills Community College

Former Bradley recruit Brady Ernst is having a nice year at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa. He is averaging 12.0 ppg and 8.8 rpg and shooting 64.5% from the floor as a freshman.

He just verbally committed to Xavier.

He spent 1 season at Iowa State where he redshirted due to a knee injury he suffered in high school. He will have 3 more years of eligibility left after this season.

I know you could blame the injury but Ernst didn't come close to looking like he could handle the BCS level while at Iowa State and no other offer he got was any higher than Bradley, North Dakota or UNI...
Obviously he aimed way, way too high choosing Iowa State, and I hope he's not doing it again...
an 11.4 ppg scorer at the juco level isn't all that eye-popping - and not a whole lot better than Jermaine Morgan or Chris Blake juco stats

Multiple sources are saying that Ernst - who is just now finishing his 2nd year of college - BUT because his 1st year was an injury redshirt STILL has 3 years of eligibility...

Ernst shouldn't have trouble getting more offers, tho as teams are in a frenzy to land talent with their late, open scholarships..
Kanter said that after he announced he was transferring, he had 41 different schools pursuing him - and he chose Xavier

Well-travelled Brady Ernst, a one-time Bradley recruit, is no longer committed to Xavier. He has revoked his commitment and is reopening his recruitment....

Brady Ernst
on the move again - after he committed to Xavier - then Xavier took grad transfer Karem Kanter
who play sthe same PF position - so Ernst reneged and looked elsewhere.
...now he commits to FGCU

Iowa State to juco to Xavier to FGCU....
Finally "highly touted" former Bradley recruit Brady Ernst is getting a chance to play college basketball...

in 11 games at FGCU, the junior is averaging 2.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg

Was he a Coach Ford recruit?
yes, definitely but Brady Ernst has been through the whole recruiting process FOUR TIMES!!
- Geno started recruiting Brady Ernst way back in early 2014 when he went thru the recruiting process the FIRST TIME....and we offered him in July of 2014.
But he got injured and a lot of his offers fell away - then he verbaled to Iowa State in June of 2015

Then after a pretty unproductive freshman season at Iowa State, in June 2016 Ernst announced he was leaving Iowa State and was going to transfer -
That's when there were mentions of possibly Bradley or ISU and landing spots...sort of a 2nd TIME being recruited.

But he chose juco (Indian Hills) where he put up some decent numbers and then got recruited again (3rd TIME he went thru the recruiting process) and verbaled to XAVIER. But when Karem Kanter (a Brian Wardle recruit) transferred from Green Bay- Xavier kinda undercut Ernst and gave his scholarship away to Kanter and so Brady went thru the recruiting process for a FOURTH TIME - and again, I think Bradley explored him as an option but he landed at FGCU, and was eligible right away having come from juco.

Thanks For The Info

Thanks For The Info

Thanks for the info. I would not be optimistic about a Coach Ford recruit. Coach Wardle much better at finding good students and good young men who can play well!
