BU Recruit 2013-Deshawn Delaney

Anyone who knows the history of great IHSA state championships from the past - surely knows Carver HS...

1963, soon-to-be-Brave Joe Allen (Cazzie Russell the year before that in a 1-pt title game loss), but in '63, a 1-pt win over Centralia in Championship game..

Rivals has a list of the other teams recruiting him-

And note that one of his teammates at Vincennes is Jacob Williams, a former BU recruit from Chicago St. Patrick's HS-

DeShawn Delaney and Vincennes juco have already gotten off to a good start..

they hosted a Juco Jamboree last Sunday and went 3-0 beating all three opponents handily - and they play a preseason scrimmage today against Ivy Tech..

Here's DeShawn hitting a jumper

I've heard Deshawn Delaney is Geno's top priority on Bradley's recruiting list for 2013, even after the commitment of Michael Tucker. Our coaches are staying in close touch. As we noted before, he will be visiting Bradley in November or December, and there sounds like a good chance our coaches would like to include him in our 2013 recruiting class.

Thus far in two games Deshawn Delaney is averaging 19 pts, 8 rebs, 2 steal for his 2-0 Vincennes Trailblazers

You are right. Jacob Williams played for Vincennes last year and was enrolled at the start of this year, but must have transferred. It was probably a good move as Vincennes is stacked with talent and he may have been a backup if he had stayed.

story on Deshawn Delaney's 4th game (in Olney at a tournament) - he scored 16 pts

some oddities occurred...the team they were scheduled to play backed out at the last minute with no warning - so...
they made a call to a travelling group of Europeans who were playing nearby and those guys came right over after their game in Belleville and played another game only a couple hours later...so they had to be tired...
..but they didn't know all the rules and had to give up FT's even before the game began because they were dunking in warmups..

Basketball Times just released their list of Top juco sophs, and Deshawn Delaney comes in at #4 in the country.
