I am a student here at BU and I was just invited to a facebook group that is a pregame party for the Bradley Depaul game at Z bar downtown which includes:

$2 food buffet
drink specials
free t-shirt

800 students will recieve a white Bradley shirt thats says DeFeat Depaul while the rest of the crowd will recieve a red shirt

I love this idea and its great to start off the season right

almost 230 confirmed guest are supposed to attend the pregame party

let me add thats its 230 STUDENTS are supposed to attend the pregame party.... i hope its like this every game from now on

lets hope we have a good year so we dont loose this fan base

I can confirm that this deal is going to be for every game while students are in session. We're working on some other things as well to make the student atmosphere even better during the games.

so its the same sort of deal as 04-05. food and a shirt. I really wish hockey didnt conflict with basketball so much

Ya, same deal as well as drink specials. Also, if you attend the pre-game party and then go back to 4-Play later that night, you don't have to pay cover which is pretty sweet.

have they had this pre party every year before every game??? This is my fourth year at Bradley and I havent missed a home game yet and this is the first time i've ever heard of such a thing

Heemy--you are a great fan, and I applaud your dedication in getting to all the games.
I don't fault the students who don't come because I know how busy college life can be and not everyone is a basketball fan.
I think it's great if we get over 600, that would be the equivalent of 2,500 students showing up at an ISU game.

I wish all the students that are basketball fans were like Heemy. It would be nice to see all the assigned student seats be filled, when school is in session, for all the games, not just the ISU game.

I really do think that this year is going to be different for Bradley student attendance. I know a bunch of my friends who never went to games before are getting really excited about going to the games this year. Hopefully Bradley basketball doesnt dissappoint them

I think the same. Working with the AD staff and just trying to get people excited has helped and it seems more of my friends are excited for this season.

It shouldn't matter if they have a good year or not. You know Jim Les will have them givng 100% and they are representing your university. They should always receive great student support, or at least better than it has been at the Civic Center. As a season ticket holder for over 30 years I have sat through good and bad seasons. It's the best show in town.

You're not gonna get an argument from me, I'd be there in the front row whether we won 20 or lost 20, but it's definately easier to get the general, "non hardcore" student to the game if the team is doing well.

Because of the 4 games they play in the exempt Chicagoland tournament, Bradley plays 31 scheduled games this year, 16 at home and 15 away, plus 1 or more games in the MVC tournament.
Many of the away games are winnable, and if they can keep their strong home-court record intact (won all but 1 last year), a 20+ win season is very doable.

Come on students, we could really use your help. Get your friends involved.
Go Braves!

totally agree bubraves06 i know i will be there even if they dont win a game all year, im just saying if bradley has a decent enough season for the fans this year then it will be easy to get them to the games for years to come especially now with all the good recruits coming in i think we can be a top 3 or valley team for the next few years with a chance to go to the tourny every year as well

Unfortunately, until BU can put together multiple 20 win years, the casual fans will be fickle. Winning gets the casual fan hooked, and I think BU won some more former-casual-now-lifelong fans last year. Now, they need to sustain those fans and win some more this year...then this thing will start snowballing. Key word here being WIN...it truly is the cure-all.
