BU great Joe Allen to be inducted into MVC Hall of Fame

Joe Allen, one of the all-time great Bradley basketball players who is in Bradley's HOF already and who's number 31 is retired at Bradley, will be one of six individuals inducted into the Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame during the 14th annual induction ceremony March 4, 2011 at Scottrade Center.

In addition to Bradley's Joe Allen, others in this year's 14th class for the MVC Hall of Fame are-
Creighton soccer star and 2-time national Player of the Year Johnny Torres- the first soccer player to be inducted into the HOF

Former Tulsa football star and 14-year NFL star receiver Steve Largent.

Finally, after 40+ years, the Valley is getting around to inducting the great Joe Allen into its HOF.

I was in the fifth or sixth grade when Allen started playing for the varsity and he tops the list of my personal favorite BU players. Overall, he's probably among the top five greatest players that ever played for BU. Think what he could have done if his knee had been healthy.
