BU-Creighton post-game thread

You know what though ... I have hung on every game this year and I do not consider tonight's loss that big of a deal. No damage in my mind and it could work to out to our advantage mentally next week.

I just watched the end, and the "travelling" call on Sam was a phantom call. I think the ref behind him did not see that he started his dribble before he moved the pivot foot, and thought it was a travel, when it clearly wasn't. I think the ref was also influenced by the crowd or the Creighton bench and gave them a gift.

Well, at least we won't have to worry about homer ref calls in St. Louis, thank god!

Except for that NIT/CBI bid. But yes, I do agree on your logic and hope we come out hungry on Friday!

I really think this game hurt us and it really showed how bad our bench is.

I was thinking this too. As far as next season, we have a great starting five, but who's on our bench? You think it was thin this year, next year worries me even more, especially learning how to play without Ruffin AND Crouch at the same time.

Though to be fair, the refs lets them in on that, nothing Bradley did.

I didn't see the game, but listened as we fouled on a made layup and then turn the ball over immediately. Meanwhile, I was watching the SIU game and seeing all night long exactly how a team should foul a layup attempt.

I was thinking the same thing (kinda) during the game. This year we have one of the best PG in BU history and the best 3P shooting guard in BU history. How far could this team have gone if POB had stayed in school? The Final Four would have been a real possibility.

Wow! Final Four! I'm just hoping we can eventually get to the point where we get in the tourney most every year like Creighton and SIU.

TCS can not finish around the basket but he has been playing pretty good defense and passing the ball well.

He's also our worst FG shooter (33%), FT shooter (53%), and 3PT shooter (24%) of any player that gets significant minutes. Those numbers were before playing 24 minutes and shooting 20% from the field tonight. Singh only played 8 minutes, therefore I thought it was appropriate to bring up TCS after someone else mentioned Singh.

Great college basketball game.

They are not better then us, they just happened to win the game. Who would have thought Witter would have gone off for 42 versus essentially Ruffin.

The rubber match should be a great game at 230 on Friday.

Tough loss but we had our chances.

I dont think anyone would have guessed that Witter would score 42 but we have seen pattern of guards on opposing teams having thier career high against us.

I agree with Dallas Brave in that I dont think this loss is a huge deal. It didnt effect St. Louis seeding or match up and having played them so close on thier court and killing them on ours, I think we have the mental edge in the rubber match.

I think just the CU will have the mental edge now if we would have won after they had a 17 point lead we get the edge.

I think that demoralizing them on our court, and then beating them on their senior night would give us a decided mental advantage. CU is young and inexperienced, and it showed tonight. They let us back in the game with a stupid technical on Stinnet, and dumb, quick shots by their young guys. Yeah, they might have been a little more 'motivated' to start the game next week, but I think it would always be in their head that BU has beaten them twice already. I don't like the fact that they now know that they can come back from 5 down with under a minute to play against us, or can run a simple ball screen for a wide open 3 whenever they want. That was some of the worst ball screen defense I have ever seen in my life. Yeah, I am not happy right now. Put it in whatever context you like, we let a team that's not as good as we are win a game that they should not have won.

You will get over it when we win next week and take the Queen for all her money!

Maybe. I think it will take winning the whole thing for me to get over this 'kick in the n-ts' season that I have just endured. It's been one kick after another this year. I'm tired of being kicked.
