BU commitment- class of 2009- Dyricus Simms-Edwards

I couldn't help but notice Kevin Brown's small pot shot at BU in the article. The offer 'came late'? Gimme a break.

Bbrave....with all due respect I couldn't disagree with you more. I read NO "potshot" what-so-ever.

Infact everything Brown was quoted to have said makes me feel there is absolutley NO "rift" at all.

He compliments Jim...the program AND the system. Likewise JL gives Kudos to Brown for what DSE is today.

I think this "rift" is much like the Les/Merfeld story.....I don't see one now and I didn't see one then.

From the Useless Information Department: I'm 99 percent sure DSE is the second player in BU history with a hyphenated last name (Cole-Scott being the first).

I don't know if I ever said there was a 'rift', I just know that the guy is from B/N and has most of his ties over there.

I don't really care, out of the 2 DI players out of Washington the past couple of years, I think we got the better one. I said two years ago when I saw them on the same team that I thought DSE was the better of the two.

I have to agree with you to a certain extent. All round player DSE no question. Shooting ability, where we lacked so much this year, you can't compare DSE with MR. DSE I'm very happy you chose to be a Brave.Just goes to show you make great decisions in life also. Now you can say "Once a Brave always a Brave" Welcome aboard, work hard and enjoy the ride its going to be special. Great job coaching staff, now the pressure is on you guys.

Anyone who saw Dyricus in the Limestone game at Washington should feel pretty good tonight about his commitment to BU. He absolutley dominated on both ends of the floor against pre-suspension Limestone and made virtually every big play when Washington needed it. Limestone was putting 1 sure-fire D1 player in Stewart and 2 marginal D1 talents in Sumrell and Lobdell against DSE, who took over the game. Very impressive indeed. Good luck on the Hilltop DSE! You made the right choice.:D

I really feel like if he stays healthy he can be a top 5 Valley player by the time he is a senior. Nothing about him Wow's you but he really can play basketball. Great opportunity for him to shine.

The comments from the Washington coach in the PJStar article were actually pretty complimentary and make the previous quote about BU getting in late make more sense.

they also reveal that BU did not push to fill a scholarship that they didn't have, and they weren't forcing anyone out as some schools do.
Once BU got the verbal from Eastman, DSE was told he was put on hold, then when Darian left, BU pushed again to land DSE and it worked.
