...
by the way - Koch has a teammate named Chol Marial who is 7-3 and is just in 8th grade...and also goes to West Oaks Academy

Koch is on the left - Chol is on the right

Gotta think we might have an advantage for perhaps the tallest player ever to play in the MVC -

hey, check this out - the roster of West Oaks High School
http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/west-oaks-flame-(orlando,fl)/basketball/roster.htm
...seven players 6-5 and taller - FIVE are 6-8 and taller
One of the seniors is Dainius Chatkevicius, the kid who was verballed to Evansville but backed out

I am not finding any ranking that has Koch bar ranked in the top 100
I wonder if he just misinterpreted what the ESPN "grade" means.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/news/_/id/187125/joel-okafor

there is one ranking that has him just outside the Top 150..but it is still early...
and we have seen before that by verballing to Bradley, he will not move up in the ranking like he would if he verballed to a power-congerence school

http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/koch-bar/0WJhyqY4EeS-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm

maxpreps says he is number 73, but I couldn't find where he was ranked 79 by scout.com like Dave stated.

Edit: oops misread that, it was saying he played for the #73 high school team in the nation last year.

I'd almost rather he not be listed in the Top 100 - that didn't work out last time - and other schools would be trying like heck to interfere until we get the LOI
Let's just leave it at this - that he is unranked and a complete project... ;)

btw- what a refreshing change - a tremendous emphasis on landing quality freshmen who can spend 4-5 years and dev elop...
instead of the past four years with the major emphasis on pursuing whatever juco kids were left over each spring...
then justifying that approach by saying it was what Wichita State had done to get so strong...

just for reference...
Koch Bar will be at the adidas Invitational in Indianapolis July 8-12, the Best of the Midwest event in Indy July 16-19 & adidas Hoosier Shootout July 24-26

Nate Kennell will be at the Chicago Summer Challenge (Riverside-Brookfield) July 9-12, the UnderArmour event in Atlanta July 15-18, then KC Hardwood Classic event July 22-26

Yes- He can sign this fall during the fall (early) signing period which goes from
Wednesday November 11, 2015 through midnight Wednesday November 18, 2015.
http://www.nationalletter.org/signingDates/index.html

if he chooses not to sign and says he will wait until the spring (April 2016) signing period then we know we have lost him to someone that tampered and lured him away from his verbal.

BU commit- 2016- Koch Bar

Bradley commit Koch Bar transfers from West Oaks Academy in Orlando to Jacksonville Arlington Country Day School (ACD) -
but also his basketball coach and two other basketball players all transferred as well - including 7-3 Chol Marial.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/highschool/blog/os-hs-shaun-wiseman-acd-20150721-post.html

this is noted to be a huge step up as ACD is a "nationally-known power" and "a national brand."

One other teammate of Koch Bar at West Oaks - just verballed to DI - but he's leaving West Oaks and headed to IMG,
..and one other of the ACD kids has also verbaled to the same DI

It was shown on ESPNU on the west coast today. I didn't watch real close but he seemed to play about 10 minutes in each half. As in this type of event he played against one of the top high school centers in the country.

Koch Bar's Indiana Elite teammate Bol Riek (Mooseheart HS) is a 7-3 Class of 2017 center that Bradley is recruiting.

He had a fairly good summer- and here are a few updates on him... he is still somewhat of a project..

-he just got his first offer- from New Mexico State

-he is making progress and have some good performances

-he looks pretty good in this video

are you referring to Bol Riek as a 2016 recruit? Koch Bar is a 2016 recruit -
but that preceding post was about one of Koch Bar's AAU teammates Bol Riek

as far back as I can find Bol Riek appears to have always been a 2017 recruit.

Here is a reference in 2013 saying that 2013-14 was his freshman year in high school -
so 2014-15 would be soph, 2015-16 his junior and 2016-17 would be his senior year
- that would make him a 2017 recruit.

Sorry, I had found the answer and thought I had deleted my post.

I was referring to the 7 footer and since corrected my sheet to be a 2017 possible recruit.

Apologies again for my mistake.

Bradley commit Koch Bar transfers...to Jacksonville Arlington Country Day School (ACD) - ...

Arlington Country Day just picked up another top talented kid - a top Canadian kid from Class of 2018, a talented 6-1 shooting guard

Interestingly - once again, there's a strong connection with BU Recruit Marquell Fraser...
Lugentz Dort played this summer on the same team, Adidas Nation U18, with Marquell Fraser!
